Diablo 3 doesn't half half the depth of Diablo 2 FAR less than PoE.

Anyone who enjoys Diablo 3 CLEARLY never played Diablo 2

In Diablo I had lvl 49 70%xp sorceressv (till reinstall Windows), in d2 this season have light sorc with enigma, infinity, griffin, skillers etc. And I am enjoying D3 a ton.

Why in the name of all that is sane would you put an enigma on a sorc?

+2 skills, big MF, Strength, DR. Still not the best option of course, but I guess you could justify it?

I will say this though. The character customization in path of exile is completely superficial. Its illusion of choice. Every build in Path of Exile this patch is exactly the same with few exceptions. Pick an aoe skill, a movement skill a few common sense auras, cwdt setup, and a few flexible slots which almost always are filled with golems, curses, enduring cry or any other of the limited pool of useful utility skills.

It's only superficial if you're stuck in the popular meta "must be Shaper viable or bust" mindset. If you're fine with playing a somewhat suboptimal (but still very viable) builds you have a ton of different options.

D3 at the highest tier of end game is also much more difficult than PoE's end game. Greater rift 90+ requires actual character control skill unlike a log of POE which by contrast requires a lot if knowledge. POE has significantly more variety of end game content.

I don't get this point. You're doing exactly the same in both games.

The builds in D3 actually play differently where poe is mostly the same. Performance wise D3 of course runs laps around POE.

I disagree with both. D3 playstyles don't differ from PoE playstyles. Maybe you could be more specific? And performance in PoE is impeccable. Only sometimes there are server problems depending on where you play.

D3 is definitely better than D2 LOD, but it is still miles behind D1, the best ARPG that ever existed.

POE has taken over a lot of features from D1, so it must obviously be not that terrible either. Instead of books, we now have gems that we level up, map design is very similar, so the idea that every char can be everything. Vendors do offer good items to us, like at D1, when we could buy unique items or scrolls.
I also like the story, even though nothing can beat D1. Sound is great, music awesome and the gameplay is very responsive, much more than at D3.

That being said, there are things that D3 just does so much better than POE. We do have auto pick up, an inventory slot for crafting materials (free), new stash tabs (free), Transmog (free), item sets and it does not take days to reach endgame.
The drop rates are also more realistic and we can gain bonus XP. Yes, it can take weeks to find the right item with good stats, but it is at least possible. At POE you can play two years and never find a six link or have a char at 100.

Sadly,
D3 and POE both suffer under the same problems. Once you leveled up, you enter a boring treadmill of repetitive content. You run the same layouts again and again, mostly solo as the group game is terribly balanced and the game engine not optimized for large groups. I give POE, that because of the skill system, we actually don´t waste our gained XP, at least until we have level 20 gems.
Summoners are poorly done in both games, something that D2 actually did very well.

In the end, POE should have copied a bit more from Blizzard and Blizzard should go back to D1 and maybe copy some of POE´s skill system, or return to the old tomes from D1.

My hope is, that one day a developer creates me a game that is as good as D1, with updated mechanics such as stash tabs, auto pick up, AH or similar trade system and top notch crafting system.

Of course D3 > PoE. D3 has been a popular game and continues to be one. PoE is just a clone that got a small player following.

Many ppl in PoE thinks D3 is better than PoE, but they play both games as they like both...

If he would play only one game, than I doubt his sanity :)
