What happened to GGG?

I did it without switching to concentrated effect and without taste of hate. With those 2 I'll probably down them in about 2-3 seconds.
I'd take Harbinger over Torment or Talisman league any day to be perfectly honest.

What's the point of complaining about supporter packs? The whole point is to give GGG money to SUPPORT THE GAME. If you don't like what's in the packs then don't do it lmao it's that simple.

I'm back in the game from a few years out and it's awesome. Harbinger is probably underwhelming because they spent most of their development time making, you know, six new acts. Sure they reused some areas but there are some crazy new boss fights.

At any rate, the devs are watching and they're probably going to crank out a crazy new league next time. I might even pick up a supporter pack if they rerelease Beyond league, that was the sh*t.

I wish they'd left 3.0 in the oven for a while longer. I was really put off by the date announced because (I can say it now), testing was rife with insane boss spikes and missing aesthetic elements. The latter I figured they were just keeping out of testing because it's not necessary, but nope, turns out the voice acting wasn't ready for the release date after all. Sigh. Not to mention no one outside of GGG really tested Act 10 to my knowledge.

To be honest, I was saying it openly before 3.0.0 came out, openly declaring it'd be in the best interests of everyone to delay past the August 4 release, and target something like October or November... (which is a good release window for games anyhow; see WoW) Had they planned ahead, they could've not dragged Legacy League out for 5 months, cut it shorter, AND had time for one more 3-month filler league. (which, TBF, Harbinger could've sufficed for...)

The issues in the beta were that apparent even in Acts 5-8. All it took was for me to couple it with my experiences in the 2.0.0 beta and its release to very readily see a pattern.

And of COURSE there'd be tons defending "It's just a beta!" but yeah, as you noticed, basically nothing changed from what was shown off in closed and semi-closed audiences vs. what we wound up seeing weeks or even months later.

Garbinger is no filler. Filler leagues/races are always the best. Darkshrines was a filler, Legacy another filler, this past two-week races with Breaches everywhere also fillers. Fillers is when they dont have the next update ready, so they give us fun league/race to keep us entertained. Planned league like Garbinger is when they carefully think how much fun can they remove (all of it) and still have something that passes for a league. A shit league, but it's still a league.

Filler leagues is when you have every step of the Strand map filled with monsters, Beyond boss spawned here and another one there, oh there's Abaxoth too just outside the screen, your rampage counter goes to 1000+ and you love every second of it. Garbinger is when you whirl, whirl and whirl some more through empty maps... kill 2 monsters, then whirl for another 30 seconds looking for another 2 monsters to kill...

When's the next filler?

Yeah, that's the sheer irony if it, and why the white-knight defense of "well, it was released with an expansion, so we should've been fine with less!" kinda falls short.

GGG put a lot more effort into Harbinger League than they did Legacy League, yet I highly doubt I can find anyone who'd say, with a straight face, that Legacy WASN'T tons better.

Less would say more than less is more, yet less is more, more or less. :)
Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done.
Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more.

'Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony this league.
Try to make maps meet, you're a slave to the meta, then you leave.
I think the funniest shit is that every single legitimate complaint such as

1) CI being too weak
2) Boss HP being too much for rewards
3) Build diversity being much lower
4) Map density issues

Were all talked about in the long ass beta extensively. Which would lead me to believe GGG didn't really listen to their players, or if they did, they simply didn't have time to fix said issues. Which is exactly why they SHOULD have delayed 3.0, but for some dumb reason they rushed to get it out.

I don't mind the map density change.
I am an introvert, after all.

Mapping experience did not change in 3.0 other than increased boss HP.

You forgot XP is reduced, and pack density is reduced. Maps are now empty and 3.0 is whirl, whirl, whirl, whirl some more, kill a pack with 3 monsters, whirl, whirl, whirl until next pack of 3 monsters.

They removed action from "arpg", baby.

I did not notice many changes to monster density in low tier maps but the higher I climb, the more visible this change is. Strand was specifically targeted so it is predictable but other maps also greatly suffer from this change-Underground river is really really empty for example.

I dont mind reduction to XP we get for killing monsters on very high levels. This might be personal choice as I rarely stick with a build past lvl90. However, I would much prefer to keep density high and reduce XP further to keep it in check. Empty maps are not fun, I admit.
