What happened to GGG?

No one streaming and no one on reddit asked for a league that gives you transmute shards as a reward, maps that give 0 xp, maps that have 50 monsters total or bosses that take 2 minutes to kill and drop 2 rare items and a Factory map.

This bullshit is 100% GGG.

How do you kill bosses in 2 minutes though? I just did a twinned Maze map with 49% life increase on bosses, took me less than 10 seconds to kill both. I haven't reached guardians yet but I haven't gotten my taste of hate either and I am still strutting around with 1 c sword.

How are bosses so damn tough for you guys?
This league is boring. Who ever was the one who thought, yeah let's force them to kill kitava before they can map is a dumbass. Not all builds are ready in that point, let me map when i want. This is just stupid. I could ask for help but why would i do that, i want to play the game my self and not watch someone else play it for me.

in the past ggg never hesitated to shift the meta around, ask those fans of 6 aura builds, shotgunning, cast on crit, mjolner, discharge and so on.

fun mechanics, if anything, ggg did let the current ci + vaal pact + poison + double dipping meta run for far too long.

kitava wasn't fun. huge bosses spawning on map corners cry CONSOLE at me. a very unfortunate development direction, thanks gameloft, not.

Well, long story short, GGG realized they now have enough fanboys that will buy any supporter pack regardless of the quality of content and defend every non-sense "balance" change with same stupid arguments that I've been seeing here in this forum for the past 2 years.

It is no surprise that things turned out this way, every company eventually pursues what makes them the most money. I have no doubt that GGG is doing better than ever financially and that is why they don't really care anymore.

I had high hopes for 3.0 but it is just boring and underwhelming with copypasta acts. League itself requires no introduction, by far one of the worst leagues. Armor set of the new supporter pack? Utter garbage.

Don't get me wrong, I supported GGG in the past because I wanted them to succeed. However, with their current anti-fun balancing policy I don't think they deserve more. But I guess one less supporter doesn't hurt when there are thousands of people buying RNG boxes ;)

Well, I will respect your opinion and I mean no offense with this but, saying the new 6 acts are "copypasta" is rather shortsighted and frankly insulting to say. A trained eye would easily see the countless hours of design that went into these acts. They are all of much higher quality standards than any of the 4 acts we had previously.

I don't agree with the way they balance the game either on many fronts and will back you in that though. People should be allowed to have a positive opinion without instantly being branded a fanboy, don't you think?

Signed,
A PoE Fanboy :3

Well A5 is brand new, other acts are mostly re-used map tilesets aka copypasta (Lunaris a8 is just Lunaris a3 with blue tint for example). Also some A6, A7 and A8 zones are obnoxiously long which made me want to go back to 4 acts - 3 difficulties.

Brine King, Araakali and Solaris&Lunaris fights were pretty nice, I'll give them that. However, why the fuck do I have to fight Shavronne and Friends over and over? Also no pantheon for Kitava, who is apparently the strongest of gods?

I don't brand everyone a fanboy but the ones with moronic arguments. Here's a classic example "You don't have any supporter packs so you can't criticise anything".

Look at your gear, a six link... most players never achieve a six link. Your gems are 20%, you have pretty much perfect stats on all items and you play a steamroll copy paste build.

Of course you won´t understand why others struggle :)
The guy I replied to has his own six link, also plays a meta build and is clearly more active than me.

Lost faith in this great company i once adored with the release of these packs and the changes to harbingers that made absolutely no noticable change. We get 3/20th of a chaos instead of 1/20th of a chaos now...GGG whiteknights can now fight me in this post for whining on forums

I do not share view of OP at all.

3.0 was great success in my opinion. This expansion turned PoE from niche ARPG experience to fully developed game offering great production value for no investment. Leveling character through 10 acts is not worthy experience even if player does not intend to continue into end-game maps.

Mapping experience did not change in 3.0 other than increased boss HP. This is controversial change in my view. I believe such massive change should have been balanced by reducing boss offensive abilities and increased rewards. I still hope GGG will revisit this change and rebalance it.

Harbinger league is rather bland experience but I expected as it was released along massive content update, which stole all the lights in the show. Initial rewards were luckluster and badly designed--getting shards of existing currency is horrible idea. Recent changes to harbingers and quantity of shards dropped helped to make them more interesting but there is still more to fix. I heard on one of streams I watch that GGG is preparing more changes to Harbinger's League so I'm still hopeful.

Harbinger packs are fancy. I like them much more than Fall of Oriath ones, at least those I'm willing to buy, so I actually both one--pet is nice, armor is decent, character effect is fancy.

All in all, I do not see any reason to loose faith in GGG in relation to 3.0 or Harbinger league and related packs. If someone would voice their concerns about Xbox launch, release in China or similar, I would at least understand some of the anger or frustration behind it..
Given all the work that went into the new acts (even if some are recycled), new mobs, new spell gems etc. I think it's understandable that the league wouldn't have any gamebreaking features. There's only so much time they can spend designing this stuff and eventually it has to release.

I would expect more content in the next league, as they're not also redesigning the game. Harbinger isn't bad, it's just not breach.

Hey, I just checked out your build. Not bad at all. You're cleave which is dual wield, you can use five dmg supports including conc (opieop), plus you're using two damage flasks. I have no doubt that your build kills bosses much faster than I can, just as I have no doubt that I can clear any map much faster than you can.

Killing double Maze (why are you playing Maze, btw?) with 40% inc life isnt a big deal. 99,9% of my mapping was Shaped T13-15s, I killed every boss in those maps. Every single boss. If it's 2 minutes per kill in a boss life + enfeeble map, it's way too fucking long. If it's 20 seconds to kill a boss, it's still too fucking long. And why? Cause they give NOTHING. No xp, no loot, no maps. Waste of fucking time. Sums up this entire league perfectly.

You forgot XP is reduced, and pack density is reduced. Maps are now empty and 3.0 is whirl, whirl, whirl, whirl some more, kill a pack with 3 monsters, whirl, whirl, whirl until next pack of 3 monsters.

They removed action from "arpg", baby.
