I absolutely hate lab and im shit in it

do the lab on days where he has sword and board , thats when he deals the least dmg.

run out of his barrage dont tank it , hit and move wait for his rain to end , wait for his smash to land , keep his minions at a minimum or kill em first.

as for traps thats a nobrainer.
im pretty sure OP is dying to izaro last stage 2nd or even first and not so much to traps.
traps are annoying and should be removed but GGG wants lab to stay and doesn´t like the fact many if not most of the playerbase hate it and rightfully so.

alternatively , you cna just stop playing HC because SC you will become far more powerful , have a bigger playerbase to trade with and able to play far more builds centered around maximum dmg and FUN.

unless fearing for your life every map and playing garbage man simulator is your preffered choice.

not judging but HC isn´t for everyone and lab turned many HC only players into scrubcores.
I've played every league since flashback as HC with the exception of last league because of the portal...and because of dying in lab. I've died in cruel, merc and uber lab to izaro and traps many times. I've died in map trials many times. While, yes it is frustrating and sometimes enraging, if you take them as lessons to be learned it can be more rewarding later on. From all those deaths I learned the layouts, how to gear for trials and lab and since starting this league back in HC I've completed all the trials and did about 10 uber runs yesterday all without a scratch.

This isn't to say I'm good. I'm not. Probably more luck than anything. You'll get better. Don't give up the HC game if you enjoy the gameplay.

watch the traps. imagine your character going in and doing it.

bring whirling blades with faster attacks, and a lightning warp with faster casting when doing traps, then switch gear to boss mode when doing izaro

go against the direction of the traps. this works for rumbas, saw blades, and spike poles.

know when to quit and do it another day. one example of when to log off is when spike poles are paired with lava floor.

I need more purple titles

Go to softcore and practice.
Best advice!!!

Also have leap slam or other movement skill available. Fire trap are the worst for me because I get lost figuring out the path. The new mini map should help.

I quit playing HC, my preferred style of play, when the Lab was added. Now I suck at playing so much that HC play will never be an option again. The advice "practice in SC" is a two edge sword. Don't "practice" dying. Don't develop bad habits. It will take a major re-write of my skill set to ever play HC again.

I agree, the "practice in standard" idea is not the best idea

I dont see any any key!
I despise the lab, keep this in mind. This is not a Get Gud post.

(1) You should NOT be dying on traps. Trap death is pure panic and mistake-ridden gameplay. Get a decent move skill and some pots and you should be past them almost without thinking.
(2) Izaro is what you need to worry about. And much has been posted on picking certain days and mods, clear as much of the mods as you can on the first 2 fights, etc etc. The key with him is to not panic as well (as I often do in Uber as soon as I see that damn tiny room).

And understand there is a skill application in the Izaro, wherein you can "avoid" his mechanics, but as an old man with crap reflexes, I prefer to just have a hp/defense minimum tier on a build before attempting various labs.
i have to agree, Labs might be ok for none hc toons. but its not even remotly fun for hc, why traps are based off a % hitpool and not a fixed value. there is simply no safe way of doing it, might just skip the hole thing. Fuck it never gona get into endgame anyhow.
