Doryani is a mace, with which Blade Flurry doesn't work, so we will use the claw with each hit anyway :)

Is there any cheaper alternative to Perfect form armor. I am bit short of currency after buying Doryani's & Touch of Anguish.

A corrupted 6 link will be fine for most content :) Belly or Coil are also decent choices.

You already have Hrim gloves, so get Winter Spirit on your way up (you will be able to use Elemental Focus/Damage etc. better). Other then this, you want to go straight up, take Claws of the Pride, then directly towards Bloodseeker and Soul Raker for leech. You can take Revenge of the Hunted on your way up as well, if you feel like you need more life.
After that, move back left, and up to take Assassination/Blood Siphon. Ignore Vaal Pact till level 50 or higher. Once you fill all those nodes, and get Raider Ascendancy, get Frenzy Charges near your tree. Then just continue going down to Duelist area and grab Constitution -> Born to Fight. My build guides:

If you have good jewels like this one, all the power to you :D but unfortunately I see a lot of people taking jewel slots without anything good to put into them.

Must say that I do love playing this build. Is it worth switching to Frost blades, or is it simply down to personal preference?

I would say it is up to personal preference. You can swap between setups if you have only 1 armour (and colors), but this wouldn't be efficient as colors don't match perfectly and you'd be running less optimal gem setup.
I would choose one that suits you better and stick to it :) My build guides:
