MoM change : why ?

MoM was in a pretty damn good place already in 2.6.
So now its achilles heel (DoTs and non-hit damage) is removed...why exactly ? And why is RF keep getting buffed through the ass ? Pool of hit points have traditionally been some of the most important things in PoE. MoM was a well designed concept that had concrete drawbacks and concrete pluses. Does it have any drawbacks now aside from not using an extra aura and big hits/dots draining all of the mana ? The former is simply negligible if you can get a 1.5k life pool instead. the latter seems to be the ONLY drawback so far and it can be dealt with effectively through many means (spirited response, nodes that grant mana on damage taken, some flasks, etc) Last edited by grepman#2451 on Jun 9, 2017, 3:04:06 AM Last bumped on Jun 19, 2017, 2:33:34 AM

in no way, shape, or form was it awful. people went so far as to take it just for the mana nodes behind it. you had CI toons taking it, ffs
MoM was already quite good, and now its simply another pool that can be stretched, quite easily I might add. |

mhh, interesting, going on higher % MoM damage transfer amount now makes sense (thou dunno if this is good for eb mom combo), especially when fighting shaper. Maybe mind of the council helm will become popular? mhh, prob not much.

" that's nice but GGG as well as other people seem to think something is only a good addition to the game if it has drawbacks hence the stupid habit to have many uniques in the game have a major nerf to my char for no good reason. just as a general remark. MoM would have been fine just having no drawbacks. The fact that I cant use auras with it or at most 1 or 2 small ones if pretty meh in my humble opinion. It would otherwise be great. For some builds, like Iron Will fire-based casters or Pathfinder with all flask nodes on tree picked, MoM indeed can have very small drawbacks for what it offers. " It isn't really hard to get a working MoM setup now, I'd say only the regen route sidetracks your build and can be moderately costly (in build real estate, not orbs). Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
