yeah its the only mapmod that can really hurt. Often mobs die nearly instantly after placing totem, but if you place a decoy first and they get the opportunity to attack it can be deadly. Some bosses are really scary with chains as well, like marveils ice projectiles chaining between you and totems for excample and especially hydra with the barrage attack ;P

Thanks for clearing up a bunch of stuff. I'm fairly competent at path of building but never worked with RF totems before. I don't know about a rare sceptre being hard to roll;you only need some combination of fire/burning dmg that adds up to 60%(with implicit) in order to be better than doryani. The requirement isn't very high at all.

All my theorycrafting errors aside, 738k shaper dps on not even a 2ex budget is kind of insane tbh.
well a doryani has 112-132 ele dmg which can be hard to top with a blue/rare sceptre. my beta experience was that i've found 1 sceptre with a burning dmg roll i thin :p

I dont think its easy to get a rare one, but it can definetly better than a doryanis once crafted/found/bought.
The new fire% and burning rolls definetly make leveling even stronger

RFT was already a good budget boss killer, but in 3.0 it will (in the current state) way better :)

but how about the whole guide?..im afraid that in 3.0 those 2 rings and uniques it has will remove tons of stats compared to other future 3.0 chars geared with mostly high lvl rares that will come...
the char can be build completely with rares, defensive wise its better to not use most uniques.
want raw dmg? use soulmantle. doesn't even need the rings with one stibnite flask and curse removal on it.

Thanks for the guide, been playing it in beta. But does CWDT-Ice Trap no longer work? Or am I doing something wrong, pretty sure I have the correct levelrequirements on the gems.

cwdt + icetrap never worked. traps, mines, totems and some skills like OoS dont work on cwdt

Ah ok thanks, saw you had it linked in the guide but that's just for the golem then I see.
i had, yes.

The reason is there is no bad interaction with it in the setup and there is no other place for it. Could be used in the vaal lightning trap setup instead of decoy totem and switch those, but it doesnt really matter where it is ;)
