There are some things i see there:

Atziris splendour does almost nothing. its a 60 resist chest not more or less.

Without the soulmantle combo or a 5-6l i would honestly just use a balefire and SR totems with Searing bond and decoy in the mix. Soulmantle is huge for RF with the 50% totemlife and lvl 20 spelltotem and it requires a bit more to compensate it (5l at least with a high spelltotem).

While you´re at it, try to get rid of purity of elements and grab the dualcurse node for enfeeble on blasphemy.

Flasks could need some quality and more solid rolls, i see room for a armour% roll. curse removal is nice to have without the 'combo'

As the merc lab reward i would've taken the 10% mom node since the extra mana also increases the total eHP and manaregen.

some blind or arcane surge (manaregen/sr dmg) are always great in OoS.

You also have to option to enter the marauder area for his starting life nodes. Kikazrus grant me almost 3.5% liferegen, this could be compenated in there.

Personally i never felt squishy. I mean i die from time to time since sc and playing like shit with 3 items equipped that grant barely any defence ;) but i've had manx reports over the years from sucessful hc playthroughs in the mid 90s and use it from time to time on hc as well if i wanna play it

Running lvl 89 on HC, feeling pretty strong. Haven't gone fully to red maps yet, yellow ones are easy. I think only way to upgrade gear now is:
- 6link soul mantle
- Better weapon (really like the life recovery on that one)
- Shield with fire dmage (losing lot of HP though :/


Oh and this is probably better than current helmet, self found:

hello milky,
my question is about arcane surge usage in the place of crit gem in oos setup.
gem buff gives spell damage, cast speed and mana regen. as far as i know we dont get benefit from the spell damage and cast speed that much, so the gem is only for mana regen or am i missing something? does it really worth using instead of crit or something else?

Sick build. I've also given up on that shield as well lol and went with a Lioneye's Remorse instead. Into the later levels I went straight SR/Decoy... couldn't help it and took a Anc Bond for the 5th totem. Too much fun. Good Job

6l mantle is nice to have, but not needed. just slammed mine for the lulz and got lucky, but would´ve done everything on a 5l

The life recovery only works on kills with SR btw.

Would stay with a lioneyes or equivalent on hc for sure, its not granting that much dmg.


I wouldn't use the helmet over the freeze/chill immunity of hrimnors, would need to be way better to replace it.

However checking for lvl 20+ spelltotem boots is worth it.

With the uberlab finished i never had problems proccing EO without the critgem.

In fact it does nothing for SB and RF (well a bit faster rf activation time), but is a nice dps boost for SR for bosses and the manaregen is nice as well.

You don´t need to use it and just use a 2nd curse in there, crit, blind or something else you like... for me it just works the best ^^

Sure why not if it´s your thing. Personally i clear worse with SR and RF totems are the way to go for me in that scenario... for others not ;)

Both options are barely noticeable. Castspeed for totems need to be huge with the 30% less multiplier attached to em. Overall i try everything to make the gameplay smoother since my damage is already very good with over a million shaper dps

OOS isn't a fire spell, but your other points are valid.
