Chieftain would be better for breaches (which honestly everyone will hunt for) since the totems are tankier. the pressure of breachmobs can be rough early on. Alternatively Hierophant with MoM can be an option for early 40% aoe in the gloves and multiple totems without AB. He lacks singletarget dmg but if that doesnt matter hierphant is solid as well

How well does this build work for singletarget damage? I just started this league and already played an non-totem RF build. But got burned out by the fact not being able to kill bosses in a 'normal' way. I dont have a problem with kiting etc. But RF felt pretty 'lame' since i was just standing around and hoping 'my stats work out'.

I am not sure if i like the Totem Play. Till now i only tried Flameblast but the casting time burned me out since it felt so 'slow'. I think this is not the case for RF-Totmes. Your videos let it look like 'running, drop totem, running, drop, ... listen for lootfilter-sound'.

Also i like the factor of how well it seems this build scales. Big Upgrades are expensive but not hyper-not-manageable for 'normal'-players. So around 10ex for big improvments. Am i right?

the damage is similar to self cast rf.

Its a bit slower since we have no moving rf aoe + placement (ofc), but has not a single mapmod thats not possible.

Bosses are pretty easy with a decoy totem (benefits a lot from all the totem life and capped resist), just unload all the stuff and wait a momemt ;)

The budget required for the build is very very low and it only has one optional expensive item on the list (tukohamas fortress)... i killed shaper with under 1ex budget and experience in the fight.

It hits a limit of offensive power rather quickly since it scales mainly with level (skilltree), jewels and gemlevel/links. Not much via gear, thats more for the defence.

I use the build mainly to unlock the atlas for my needs, kill atziri/guardians/shaper/uber izaro very early in a new league and make money with it, since there is not much to spend on the build.

Question: RF gem says ist a spell, so it should get increase by spell damage, also Quality on it highers the spell dmg?

It has the spelltag, but in this case its just a buff (spelldmg) coupled with a debuff (selfdmg, dmg aoe). Immortal call and curses for excample are also spells.

The more spelldmg and quality bonus is just a buff that would affect other spells you use, but has no effect for rf

Why use Scorching Ray if you have Elemental Equilibrium?

Elemental Equilibrium increases the enemy's fire resistance by 25%, and Scorching Ray decreses it by at most 24%.
Is there some benefit of Scorching Ray that I'm missing?

Oh what, I just read on the wiki that Scorching Ray does not hit.
That means it never procs EE, right?!
