I just did this a couple of days ago. I had a Tabula and used 'Blade Furry', 'Melee Physical Damage', 'Added Fire', 'Faster Attacks' and 'Increased Area of Effect'. Skipped to 6th link to save on some mana.

I just bought the best physical daggers that I could get. Refused to pay more than 2 alc each. If you see me online, ping me and I will give you the two daggers that I used.

Not sure if this is the best setup, but it worked for me.

I also switched to 'discharge' as soon as I meet the OP benchmarks for doing so (level 61). I was lucky and had an Astramentis that I could use to help with the Str and Int. By the time I had enough cash for a Voll's, I had filled out the tree enough that I could drop the Astramentis. Even at this low level, using the hammer was a lot of fun and sure beat using 'Blade furry'.

just killed Hydra at lvl 82. I have leveled up gems 20/20, some 20/23 and 21/20 discharge and the damage felt like i could use more, but on the other hand so far i was lazy to buy gems for RF so im not using it at all, just cwdt combo and auras, so with rf it should be way easier since its decent dmg boost. I dont have any offensive jewels either, cuz of caping resi/int/str, which should be easier ith few more lvls, so there is also huge dmg potential in jewels for my toon. That being said this build can for sure kill guarians/shaper, just just nee to know your shit and boss mechnics and fair amount of invested currency in gears. Feel free to check my character for more details on my gear.

The OP explained this to me yesterday :)

When you first switch over to Mjolner you use Arc, Discharge and Life Leach in the hammer.

Down the road when you have obtained your Voll's and Kingsguard plus got the 'Unrelenting' passive you can switch to Discharge, Controled Distruction and Elemental Damage or whatever combinations works for you.

I am still confused on what to do with the pantheon.
@RicoKGB: In another Mjölner thread (https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1963209/page/1), the OP mentioned this:
"
cyclone hits twice per spin. so 2.74 times a second= 5,48 hits per second.

which somehow makes sense.
In your build you have 4.55 attack rate according to Path of Building. That would mean you actually hit about 9,1 times per second?

(I checked Path of Building by creating a new character without anything, adding Cyclone and Infernal Blow as gems ... Infernal Blow has an Attack Rate of 1.2, Cyclone has an Attack Rate of 1.8 (=1.2 x 1.5 because of the 50% more) - which would mean PoB does not show the "hits twice per attack" stat?)

I mean hitting exactly twice as fast probably still gives you the 5 triggers per second (the second hit just does nothing), but we would actually have to invest way less into attack speed and can divert e.g. passives to more life, damage or other stuff?

Did I oversee something here?

Yes.

1) If you want to use second spell like Arc you need twice the number of trigger events.
2) If you account for accuracy and how Cyclone works - you will miss sometimes due to the acc roll or due to being out of range.
3) The more APS (and movement speed) the more responsive cyclone spins you can make.

Hey Rico,

I'm not sure if this was brought up before, but I grabbed a couple extra things in the perk tree. Go from the Sentinel Perk, (down and to the right of the central wheel) and go straight up from there, hitting all three of the following; fire, cold and lightning resistance. Then head to the right of those and grab the gem socket. I did this for two reasons:

1) Each resistance on that particular section holds a +18%. Which is a pretty decent amount for the perk tree, and once you hit Kitava after act5 / act10, you will need every bit you can get your hands on.

2) Gem socket. 'Nuff said.

I already noticed a heck of a difference when it came to the res, nothing yet for the gem slot (only at lv 45, trying to slowly work and push my way up the ladder), but it is an improvement. Hope this suggestion helps and if I am wrong as all get-up, then feel free to correct me, I love learning about the different mechanics of this game!

Belado
