Pure Zombie Necromancer build?

Can't remember where I found this but here's a mini levelling guide for summoners, I added a few things:

"I leveled as a typical summoner beelining for MOM and Herd of the Flock and the 1.5% regen passive prior, then taking minion nodes and life for myself. I used firestorm zombies and raging spirits as soon as the gems were available and did not experience significant setbacks.

Essences were extremely helpful in gearing while leveling. I would just throw essences of anger/wrath/hatred on armour or armour/energy shield 4-link items that dropped. Most of the time I would end up with something decent that was at least an upgrade over what I was using in that equipment slot. Essences of fear were not that helpful, but they are certainly worth considering for the minion bonuses.

The main problem while leveling is to keep the zombies from being destroyed. A Rejuvenation Totem is helpful in that regard.

Some unique items of note include: Bones of Ullr and Skullhead, Sidhebreath, Matua Tupuna, Queens Decree"

Thx all.
Forgot the ascendancy also gives 100% specter life, so base life should be ok.

I was wondering as I couldn't test it, will Phasing applied to minions improve AI theoretically?
I know with melee Golems, their travel time is rather high because of poor targeting, where the target is unreachable or path blocked resulting is a semi idle golem. If with Phasing they can attack in a straight line, unhindered it might be something to look into for clear speed?

first off i would only use the spectre ascendancy as a means to bridge gaps in your minion defenses

you want spirit eater as your real ascendancy because it provides simply to much minion damage and utility to ignore.

2nd .. dont bother with phasing . minion speed is what really solves usability for minions
Lvl 28 now.
Since about midway through act 2, the zombies started to "not give a fuck anymore". They don't die and murder everything. Pretty enjoyable, though the main damage still comes from SRS.

Found this in mud flats:

SSF ftw! ;-)

Out of curiosity:
If I don't take ZO and MoM, but EB, does casting delay ES replenish?
Does damage delay ES replenish even though it doesn't protect life?
(just think I maybe want to keep the regen on life instead of ES)

I'm having a brainfart and drawing a blank on your first question but damage does delay es replenish with EB for sure.

And I hear her now
And I'm nearer to

Interesting build choice, though 1000STR is a big investment.
hm it's definetly worth considerations... but with a whole different setup. no time to think about it too much tho, i got my plan ^^
big investments into STR, e.g. 1000 STR, means

1) you have to go life (different pathing)
2) your zombies have +500 max life
3) your zombies have +200% increased melee physical dmg (!)
4) you have 1,5 more zombies with mon'treguls. so you can hit maybe 5-6 zombies. remember, going from 5 to 6 zombies means 20% MORE damage.
5) your zombies have 20% inc max life, which "allows" you to drop 2 minion life nodes, which isn't the smartest thing as we path around there anyway.
6) maybe you don't need life flasks and can go umbilicus anyway because zombies heal you.

I am doing pure STR summoner after finding out about the helmet

Here's my setup so far, lvl 66

using 2x violent dead (next to scion and between witch/shadow) and 2x Efficient training. Currently at exactly 800 strength with many upgrades to make. Expect to get maybe 1500 when I'm done.

Do you think this will be better that the traditional summoner build once fully finished? Or is it something to play with just for fun?

indeed appart from the chest dont bother with + minion gear if you use that hat

frenzy monkeys can work with as low as 2 under blood magic

as for how good this build is

well that depends on how high you can push its hp without kaoms (and you dont want kaoms)

6k? nope 7k? mmm maybe 8k? possible

@allana how much hp do u have at the moment and how much do u expect to get endgame? The Baron helm looks very interesting and I would have probably gone that route if I knew about it before Legacy started. Have you considered going to vaal pact? That would allow you to play very aggressively, you can also use int->str and dex->str jewels to convert all the stats on the way there so nothing goes wasted.
