Zero New Skill Gems in 2.6

Isn't beta closed? I though you need some sorf of "invitation" for beta.

So you would rather have new shit compared to fixing things first then get new stuff? That makes you a maniac. Also they said in 3.0 new skills are coming so keep your pants on til' then if you can since that seems to be something you just can't wait for

Dont wasnt to sound pessimist but I strongly doubt there will be skill rebalance and tweaks on 2.6
And if there are, by experience with GGG, I can tell you they will be bad

Too op or too shit
And calling it , Dom blow won't be buffed or fixed
ZiggyD is the Labyrinth of streamers, some like it, some dont, but GGG will make sure to push it down ur throat to make you like it

Looking back at the history, that is exactly what's gonna happen. There will be at some point a huge timer put on front page that will run from X to Y,and then restart,at which point a random account will get sent a beta code.

Tho there is a chance it will be far more restrictive since last large expansion beta testing apparently really did not provide as much feedback as they hoped, since most people just did not care about testing,or even reporting stuff that they find to be broken.
No rest for the wicked.

Gamers dont report stuff because they prefer their game broken. Why else do people always make the build with the most broken skill?
Of course I don't mind new skills. It is always interesting and challenging to test them out. But ya, I prefer them "balancing" the old skills first.

This!

And, remember, 2.6 is first and foremost a "placeholder" league until 3.0. More so than any other league we've seen, I dare say. Not many new items, no new themed items. No new bosses. and so on. "Just" revamped old stuff. And I like it. A fun placeholder.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
Im fairly sure ull be able to buy beta access for like $10 the same as last time.
I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

There's a handful of skills mentioned fixed on top of general game mechanics that are changed plus they mentioned a lot more to come once the patch notes arrive.

I think this is what he means, EK + New Ek Jewel + 6L SoS, blade nova?

I mean why would you go SoS for nova proj if new jewel gives it to EK already?

umm....more projectiles? i personally think d/w divinarius dagger is way better than sos
For those who counter the lack of new gems with the new threshold ones, a question:

Do we really want GGG to "fix" weak skills through the use of the threshold gems?

I mean, don't get me wrong, threshold gems are a great idea in and of themselves -- to give you ways to alter skills. But stuff like Weight of the Empire is pretty much 100% required for any Heavy Strike user (20% more damage modifier, for a single jewel slot? Lol...). It's a way to offset the fact that Heavy Strike is balls due to its knockback.

I haven't really played a projectile build since the shotgun nerf (excepting CoC), so I can't say for sure about how much FP really benefits from the two extra projectiles, but it seems to be a similar case.

If a skill is broken, fix the skill. Don't make an item that we have to use to make it viable. Threshold jewels should be things like Ring of Blades or Dead Reckoning, that don't strictly buff the skill, but rather change its mechanics substantially, or require specifically building to it in order to take advantage of it (like Growing Agony, which requires building for attack speed or a secondary poison application mechanic, vs. vanilla Viper Strike).

That being said, I'm happy with new gems or fixing old ones -- it doesn't really make a whole lot of difference in terms of the number of viable gems in the game.
