Youngsters with to much free time and no goals are offended by this.

"people" would browse the concept art and go "Nice. . . honey, whats for dinner tonight".

Peace,

At least for me it's not about being offended (even though it's sketchy matter). It's about place of Nazi in PoE. They don't.

Where are you getting the idea that they are NAZI. They have vaguely similar aesthetics. That is it. We don't know anything else about them. I think having a militaristic-evil empire type antagonist fits PERFECTLY in with PoE lore. They seem to be something to do with the Ebony Legion (maybe the Templar order after Dominus disappeared to Wraeclast/was killed by us? They certainly do have similarities to the troopers we saw in the XBoX trailer standing behind Dominus during the cut scene where we were condemned to exile on Wraeclast)

Wait, you actually think that they should be called Nazi in game for people to be worried about?...like if they are not called like that officially it's all fine?...what?...this is really twisted thoughts...
A lot of players have this weird, narrow, old fashioned idea about "what an ARPG is" and "what belongs in an ARPG". The moment a developer creates something that pushes a player out of his narrow comfort zone, they go haywire. Are you all retired conservatists?

"Anything vaguely based on nazis, has nothing to do in an ARPG"
"Anything close to a Labyrinth, has nothing to do in an ARPG"

Like your definition even matter.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

It's very fortunate that something like Borderlands comes along once in a while to show that the basic formula doesn't also have to be a Diablo 2 carbon copy to succeed.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

it's kinda funny how there are at least 5 posts in this thread clowning on people being offended when no one in the thread was offended, and neither was the op.

this thread literally talks about nazis and not-so-subtle allegories being out of place in wraeclast and poe lore.

seriously, people who preemptively witch hunt sjws are just as hilaruous as sjws themselves
anyway, I like bdsm themes, don't like implementation

don't like this nazi allegories, it's just lazy design. that goes for most games that don't actively deal with nazis as main focus or in historic period or alternative history and try to have them anyway. games are so oversaturated with nazis as enemies it's like one huge trope.

It's not about being offended, it's about being bored by the extreme unoriginality and lazy allegories.

and especially in lore like poe where you have enough interesting in-game bosses/mini bosses who are cruel enough to torture npcs in-game... does it really need a nazi allegory? let my homegirl piety handle that shit just like she did tolman. introduce a batshit crazy cross between dominus and Lady dialla. come on.
The setting game is a dream. They can do what ever the hell they want and still pull it off as "lore".

Indeed, Maraketh skillfully juggle the somewhat broad Eastern theme with Karui focused on Oceania, they got Eternal Empire for Roman influences, Oriath for Southern Europe (with a Mussolini twist), Vaal for some South America flavor and Ezomytes for Nothern Europe.

Yeah, Africa seems to be missing but I have faith in them, if they managed to replace the Nazi with an African shaman in Hellsing it means the two are compatible at least to some extent.

When did I say that? Don't put words in my mouth [post?].

There are just as many parallels that can be drawn between the Empire in Star Wars and the third reich as you can between these bad guys and Nazis. Did you freak out when you first saw Star Wars? In fact, given that all we have is a couple of pieces of concept art, and otherwise know nothing about these guys, everyone is making an awful lot of assumptions... How about we wait and see what the content is that actually is in the game before everyone loses their fucking minds?
U MAD?

Hell, even Shadow Warrior 2 did well with this grindy spirit. But like with Borderlands, there is nothing to do after completing the game. Too bad there is no games like PoE with such rich endless endgame :/

Exactly my thoughts. I think Nazis are just a lazy trope and it have no place in Path of Exile.

You should have mentioned that you meant that "We don't know how exactly they are gonna be implemented in the Game, so we can't say anything about it yet." Btw if there would be no outrage they would leave them like that - looking like a fucking Nazi, so complaining based on just concept art is perfectly fine.

We have 2 confirmed dreams in the Game, other than that it's just speculation.

Also it's really weak argument. It's basically same as saying that player should not express his concerns about ANYTHING in PoE, because Game is owned by GGG and it's even free.

But how Path of Exile would grow and GGG become richer without any input from the Community? You never asked this yourself before posting another complaing about someone's concerns about PoE.
