Is there are preferred video card for this game?
Cpu - 4core 4.20ghz amd (4320 fx i think)
my old card - hd 5750 amd , was fine at 1366x768 . my "new" card: 550 Ti (7 year old card I think), fine at 1920 @ high textures no shadows. something must be really wrong with your PC's... maybe rootkit? Why bother finding a Mirror of Kalandra if it can be [Removed by Support]
Killing the Elder or Shaper while following someone's build is like finding a street using google maps - such an achievement! |

My experience has been the same as some others have suggested; if you have a half decent video card, the bottleneck (specifically when playing PoE) is cpu. I'd be interested to know if the people using 1080's would have any performance dip at all if they were using slightly lower end cards, my guess would be that they wouldn't.

" Good observation. I guess I never got into games that emphasize flashy graphics and big explosions. Path of Exile is the next best thing after Diablo 2, for me that is. Titan quest was also good. Last edited by terminator2#2067 on Mar 15, 2017, 9:31:45 PM

" SLI is never "preferred". SLI cuz you play at 4k /multi monitor and need the horsepower ( and hopefully your favorite game/s support SLI), not cuz it's " preferred". It's not. A single card is ALWAYS better than 2 cards that are half as powerful. I have a single 1080 for 120hz monitor and VR and it's plenty, not to mention there isn't much support for SLI w/ VR. |

I'm running an AMD RX 390 at 4k resolution. All settings maxed , game looks amazing.

" I'm still running PoE on an older AMD 6870 (MSI Hawk model) and PoE plays ok but going forward unless the next generation of Vega AMD GPUs substantially improves performance over the RX-series (RX-470, RX-480) or the price of the RX-480 goes down to $150.00 USD or less (not very likely) I'll be looking at the nVidia 1060 or 1070 as my next video upgrade. Right now I'm waiting until either AMD or nVidia comes out with their HBM2 (high bandwidth memory 2nd gen.) video and then once the performance and prices are known I'll be upgrading. Hopefully HBM2 video will come out this year. If you can't wait then go for the nVidia 1060 (get the 6 GB memory version) or the 1070 if you can afford it. I think the 1080 is overpriced and is overkill for PoE but other games you play may be a deciding factor. "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2247070 |

" grats on your wasted money. 40$ more for the 1050ti would have gotten you double the performance and longevity |
