If a gynecologist is not considered a kind of Scientist then it really boils down to your personal definition of Scientist. Doctors generally have the liberty to go partially into research and that makes them Scientists in a sense. Take note that the word 'Scientist' does not exist as a profession. I am a physicist myself and nobody ever calls me a Scientist or anything...
