" Hop 2 reports an average ping of 250 ms and a highest reported ping of 2750 ms. That's after only 58 returned pings. Very clearly an ISP issue. " Zero diagnostic information provided in this thread; not worth linking to. Maybe it's a home network issue, maybe it's an ISP issue, maybe it's a GGG issue, maybe it's Maybelline.™ " yy70028, the person who created the thread, never posted diagnostic data. A WinMTR posted by estoris potentially shows an issue in NetworkLayer's network, which is effectively the ISP which GGG use. I'd like to see one or more two WinMTRs by that person as the WinMTR wasn't as conclusive as I'd be hoping for, but it certainly is suspect. A WinMTR posted by Invalesco shows something going very wrong with their routing. The latency appears to begin spiking at 203.208.178.186, which appears to be an Internet Exchange registered to a company called SingTel (who some posters say is their ISP). " Glacvorx posted a WinMTR which doesn't clearly show an issue. I'm not sure if they ran the test while the problem occurred. I glanced through the thread and didn't see them post again. Aetavicus posted a WinMTR with bb118-200-31-254.singnet.com.sg showing a ping as high as 1014 on hop 2, which is laughably terrible. I did a Google Search for "Singnet" and it appears to belong to Singtel - a company which we've already identified as seemingly having problems. Checked the rest of page one and no other diagnostics posted, unfortunately. " lorem331 posted a WinMTR which paints NetworkLayer in an unflattering light, but there were a few... imperfections earlier on, too. I'd like to see more than the 161 pings in the WinMTR - the guide posted by GGG does ask for ~500 pings in I remember correctly. IAmSoGoodLol posted a WinMTR. Hop 2 has an average ping of 66 ms and a worst ping of 260 ms, which is uncomfortably high. Hop 3 shows an average of 164 ms and a worst of 2313 ms. IAmSoGoodLol posted again. Hop 2 now has an average of 402 ms and a worst ping of 4104. That's not just bad. That's one of the worst results I have ever seen. ISP issue. Checked the rest of page one, no other diagnostic data provided. tl;dr: Singtel is irredeemable terrible. There's some less-than-ideal responses from NetworkLayer hops but the evidence just isn't pointing towards them (or the server) being at fault. |

" I can never understand what drives people to do this. It doesn't make sense. The entire point of a test is to gather information so that somebody - generally somebody who has received training on the subject - can examine the information provided to reach a conclusion. We get information, then look at that information, to learn what's happening. When you remove information you make it that bit harder for the people trying to analyse the test (which makes me wonder why you bothered to run the test at all...). I often look at the IP addresses listed to better understand what I'm seeing. A ping measures how long it takes your computer to talk to something. If you get a ping of 100 ms to your modem, that's bad. If you live in Singapore and get a ping of 100 ms to America, that's exceptionally good - hell, I'd probably call bullshit. Pings measure how long it takes to communicate over a distance - the results we expect thus vary with the distance involved. In addition, IP addresses are useful for getting an insight into whether a particular ISP is causing problems for a lot of players, or whether maybe the problem is as your traffic passes from one company to another. Sometimes when the connection between two companies needs to be upgraded there'll be a fight over who should pay for it. While they squabble over it, anyone using that connection suffers congestion (too much traffic, too little infrastructure). It's extremely frustrating to be trying to help someone only for them to arbitrarily decide to make that more difficult for you. There's zero reason to edit your modem's IP address out of the WinMTR because nobody can use that to reach your modem. It makes even less sense to edit out IP addresses utilized by your ISP and their peering partners. What are you trying to achieve? Do you really think your ISP's infrastructure would collapse if I sent them one ping? I'm out, dude. Find somebody else to give the runaround. |

Hi, I'm Estoris and I see that a couple more MTR reports by me would be helpful.
I would be providing reports of at least 5000 sent/receive with hopes that it would be helpful. There would be one where I am in town/hideout where the ping is constantly 15-17ms with a occasional short 1 second spike to 60ms when I alt tab back into the game while another would be in a high ping situation (250ms - few thousand at times?) such as in a monster map. Do note that all tests are being done with similar setup which is leaving POE in the background and browsing the net while the test is running. My first test done yesterday in a high ping situation (1/5/2017) |------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | WinMTR statistics | | Host - % | Sent | Recv | Best | Avrg | Wrst | Last | |------------------------------------------------|------|------|------|------|------|------| | gateway.gateway.2wire.net - 0 | 603 | 603 | 0 | 1 | 24 | 1 | | bb118-200-31-254.singnet.com.sg - 0 | 603 | 603 | 1 | 2 | 15 | 2 | | 202.166.119.206 - 0 | 603 | 603 | 3 | 5 | 60 | 4 | | 202.166.119.205 - 0 | 603 | 603 | 2 | 2 | 37 | 2 | | ae8-0.tp-cr03.singnet.com.sg - 0 | 603 | 603 | 2 | 3 | 23 | 4 | | ae4-0.tp-er03.singnet.com.sg - 0 | 603 | 603 | 2 | 3 | 27 | 3 | | 202.166.124.190 - 0 | 603 | 603 | 2 | 5 | 68 | 2 | | ip-202-147-32-126.asianetcom.net - 0 | 603 | 603 | 3 | 3 | 13 | 3 | |te0-0-2-0.wr1.sin0.10026.telstraglobal.net - 0 | 603 | 603 | 3 | 5 | 17 | 4 | | ae2-0.gw2.sin0.10026.telstraglobal.net - 0 | 603 | 603 | 3 | 4 | 54 | 3 | | SFL-0022.10026.telstraglobal.net - 0 | 603 | 603 | 4 | 4 | 30 | 4 | | ae6.dar02.sr03.sng01.networklayer.com - 0 | 603 | 603 | 5 | 5 | 32 | 6 | | po2.fcr01.sr03.sng01.networklayer.com - 42 | 228 | 134 | 5 | 20 | 330 | 6 | | 5b.cb.0cd8.ip4.static.sl-reverse.com - 0 | 603 | 603 | 4 | 5 | 17 | 5 | |________________________________________________|______|______|______|______|______|______| WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider Would be uploading more: (Non lag situation) |------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | WinMTR statistics | | Host - % | Sent | Recv | Best | Avrg | Wrst | Last | |------------------------------------------------|------|------|------|------|------|------| | gateway.gateway.2wire.net - 0 | 5231 | 5231 | 0 | 1 | 21 | 1 | | bb118-200-31-254.singnet.com.sg - 0 | 5230 | 5230 | 1 | 2 | 34 | 5 | | 202.166.119.206 - 0 | 5230 | 5230 | 3 | 6 | 122 | 6 | | 202.166.119.205 - 0 | 5229 | 5229 | 2 | 2 | 61 | 2 | | ae8-0.tp-cr03.singnet.com.sg - 0 | 5231 | 5231 | 2 | 3 | 41 | 3 | | ae4-0.tp-er03.singnet.com.sg - 0 | 5231 | 5231 | 2 | 3 | 27 | 3 | | 202.166.124.190 - 0 | 5230 | 5230 | 2 | 5 | 90 | 16 | | ip-202-147-32-126.asianetcom.net - 1 | 5222 | 5220 | 3 | 3 | 15 | 4 | |te0-0-2-0.wr1.sin0.10026.telstraglobal.net - 1 | 5223 | 5221 | 3 | 6 | 46 | 8 | | ae2-0.gw2.sin0.10026.telstraglobal.net - 0 | 5230 | 5230 | 3 | 4 | 63 | 4 | | SFL-0022.10026.telstraglobal.net - 1 | 5210 | 5205 | 3 | 4 | 94 | 4 | | ae6.dar02.sr03.sng01.networklayer.com - 1 | 5226 | 5225 | 4 | 5 | 63 | 6 | | po2.fcr01.sr03.sng01.networklayer.com - 8 | 3968 | 3651 | 5 | 9 | 261 | 7 | | 5b.cb.0cd8.ip4.static.sl-reverse.com - 1 | 5222 | 5220 | 4 | 5 | 16 | 5 | |________________________________________________|______|______|______|______|______|______| WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider (Lag 250ms situation) |------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | WinMTR statistics | | Host - % | Sent | Recv | Best | Avrg | Wrst | Last | |------------------------------------------------|------|------|------|------|------|------| | gateway.gateway.2wire.net - 0 | 5011 | 5011 | 0 | 1 | 22 | 1 | | bb118-200-31-254.singnet.com.sg - 0 | 5011 | 5011 | 1 | 2 | 34 | 2 | | 202.166.119.206 - 0 | 5011 | 5011 | 3 | 6 | 118 | 5 | | 202.166.119.205 - 0 | 5010 | 5010 | 1 | 2 | 47 | 2 | | ae8-0.tp-cr03.singnet.com.sg - 0 | 5011 | 5011 | 2 | 3 | 48 | 3 | | ae4-0.tp-er03.singnet.com.sg - 0 | 5011 | 5011 | 2 | 3 | 31 | 3 | | 202.166.124.190 - 0 | 5011 | 5011 | 2 | 5 | 96 | 3 | | ip-202-147-32-126.asianetcom.net - 1 | 5007 | 5006 | 3 | 3 | 17 | 4 | |te0-0-2-0.wr1.sin0.10026.telstraglobal.net - 1 | 5007 | 5006 | 4 | 6 | 23 | 4 | | ae2-0.gw2.sin0.10026.telstraglobal.net - 1 | 5004 | 5002 | 3 | 4 | 55 | 4 | | SFL-0022.10026.telstraglobal.net - 1 | 5003 | 5001 | 3 | 4 | 141 | 4 | | ae6.dar02.sr03.sng01.networklayer.com - 0 | 5010 | 5010 | 4 | 5 | 150 | 5 | | po2.fcr01.sr03.sng01.networklayer.com - 13 | 3331 | 2910 | 5 | 8 | 108 | 6 | | 5b.cb.0cd8.ip4.static.sl-reverse.com - 1 | 4996 | 4992 | 4 | 5 | 31 | 5 | |________________________________________________|______|______|______|______|______|______| WinMTR v0.92 GPL V2 by Appnor MSP - Fully Managed Hosting & Cloud Provider Last edited by estoris#6800 on Jan 5, 2017, 10:55:16 PM

I'm also a singtel user with the following winMTR report. I have been facing steady 260 ping on most maps. With 15+ ms occasionally. EDIT, where are all the network layers from?
