"Scamming"
|
I have ignored people for this exact thing. It is proper etiquette to make the price and offer clear. otherwise you look like a sly (scammer) changing the price tag on merchandise... Like the 10 other people already said^^
It used to be a common scam too but now that the premium tabs have been implemented--we can see our listed price on the item without having to go on the forums. |
|
" Naah it's not an etiquette - you are just being lazy. Ctrl+c and ctrl+v in game from a third party site... I'm being lazy too and I'm editing the price to not have to type. It's your fault that you have so many scam flips. |
|
" This. Etiquette homie. Place your offer after the listed price so the buyer knows right away what he listed it for (people sell mad loot, so nobody got the time to price check shit) and that you're making an offer. It also saves you time so you don't have to go back and edit out the actual listed price and then throw in your offer. Like what's the struggle here? Lol Deliver pain exquisite

" I would love to see somebody who has thousand tabs, going through them and flips hunderd of items per day :) Last edited by Rexeos#3429 on Dec 24, 2016, 8:29:27 PM

I place offers after the quoted msg, nearly every day someone wont see it and then say hey price was x or .6 of an ex is this (basically think im scamming them). I dont know if poe has any clear etiquette for trade yet.

" This happens occasionally to me too which I consider nobody's fault which is why I usually add a series of dashes separating my offer to make it very clear. such as [Hi, I would like to buy you're Blah Blah Listed for Blah Blah Blah]--------Can I buy for 2ex? And I swear people are more likely to sell[cheaper] because you're being transparent. |

" Your being an arrogant asshole with this line of thinking. First its an automated msg and it looks the same so when you do hundreds of trades you skim it for the pertinent information , item column row, and price. Altering any part of that is shady as hell. Your inane argument that people can just hurr durr read it all is asinine. We are all playing and have more important things to do we skim the msg for the valuable bits , as it has been said numerous times if you want to alter the trade add it as a line item at the end because that will be easily noticeable , anything short of that is an attempt to scam someone period. |

I put "exact price" and usually only list uniques or decent rares, I still get people who low-ball me too to save 1 chaos, it's quite annoying and I boot them out of the party after that happens. Quite annoying when it's a cheap unique and in demand and they're surprised when it happens.

This is usually how I do it:
Original copied text: " My modified text: " And it worked for me. P.S. Underlined text is the original copied text. |

" Yeah, don't do that. If you're making an offer then your message should include both the list price of the item and the price you're offering, and both of these things should be clear. It comes down to being clear and honest about everything upfront, because if there isn't that clarity then the other person notices the discrepancy later in the trading process, they're not going to be happy. Personally, if I burn a map portal to make a trade then notice that the person was trying to bid down the item without actually being clear about it, not only do they not get the item but they get added permanently to my ignore list (too many other things I'd rather be doing than dealing with people who can't manage decent trading etiquette). |
