3.0 UPDATED] Raider Elemental Crit Spectral Throw - Shaper and t16 viable

got this today for just 7c

What is with Elemental Focus instead of Lightning Penetration ?
i mean its 49% more elemental dmg vs 37% lightning pen ?
Sure we cant shock with our attacks but with vinktar we are shocking anyway.
Basically the highest a mob resistances are, the better Lightning pen is performing.
Take a mob with 40% resists. Like shaper. Or mobs with ele resistance map mods.

Let's say you do 100 damage and add Ele Focus. You now do 149 damage versus a mob with 40% res.
With Lightning Pen, you still do 100, but with a mob with 3% resists.

149 * 0.6 = 89.4 (EF)
100 * 0.97 = 97 (LP)

So in this case you would do 8.5% more damage with lightning pen. And you can shock all the time, not just with vinktar, which is not up all the time.

It's not a perfect example as we already have other sources of penetration elsewhere, but I hope you get the idea.

The reason you got it so cheap I think is that the attack speed is really low, and it's the master stat everybody is looking for. I dont think these vaal rapier are a good base.

Sure but this is just based on pure lighting damage but we are dealing ice and fire damage too.
So lets say we dealing 100 lightning and 20 ice and 20 fire damage.
so against a mob with 40%resi
with ef 149 + 29,8 + 29,8 * 0.6 = 196.68
with lp (100*0.97) + (20 + 20 * 0.6) = 129

So juts with Shock with lp we dealing just 189 damage.
But with ef our potential damage is 295.02 with Vinktar.
Except you got your ratios wrong ;)

We're focusing 100% on lightning damage.

As an example, in my HO, per hit, I'm dealing an average ((min + max) / 2) of:

- 3134 lightning damage
- 165 cold damage
- 200 fire damage

So yea, I'm dealing 19 times more lightning damage than cold damage for instance. I believe this would change your example quite a bit.

edit: also, how did you get 196.68? It would be (149 + 29,8 + 29,8) * 0.6 right?

---

Btw after you get level 76, I recommend you spec out of the 3 10% dmg nodes at the range start and get Primeval Force.

Sure in your case is lp better.
But in my case im dealing an average of

- 1159.5 lightning
- 255.5 fire
- 593 cold

So with this stats would be ef better.
I dont know how much it change for me in later level but i will see.

Yeah im currently on the way to Primeval Force and would respect them anyway later.

oh yeah did a mistake how i see, (149 + 29,8 + 29,8) * 0.6 = 125

so i think ur right lp would be better with the next level when i got more lightning damage ^^

Yea ok, I guess with your numbers, ele focus might be better for now :) I can sell you a level 20 wrath for 1c if you see me online. Or just buy it from anyone. That will give you a lot more damage right away!

Just a heads up that the link doesn't work.
He meant to post this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tFGvoPTriM

What's your DPS in hideout now? I just got to 95 now, so that would be a good time to try some harder stuff, I just killed the phoenix guardian as of yet. I'll try to go for 96 though, to get one more "big" node.
