IS RNG really that BAD?

Yes, RNG is horrid to the individual because it can never guarantee anything. In other words, across the entire population of PoE players it's just fine, it shows its curve and it's working according to probability. But on an individual basis, it's skewed.

Fact: It's not a problem specific to PoE, but it certainly plays a huge role in end-game loot and player progression in PoE. With the RNG the way it is (as explained by GGG in the past), it's possible for a player to never ever get an exalt drop, even if they play all the time since the launch of the game, though all leagues and within standard/hardcore.

Opinion: Can it be fixed? Yes, of course. You weight the probability over time. For example, of the first few thousand loot drops you start at the base level probability of getting an exalt. Then for the next few thousand you increase it slightly, and so on until the chance to get an exalt is capped at some point. And when you get an exalt, that weighted counter resets.

Fact: Is the fix good for PoE as a whole? I really don't know. Only GGG can answer that with the greatest level of accuracy since it's their RNG algorithms and they have all of the collected data over time. The RNG has been balanced over time for different items, but it's possible that there is no weighting being done. I don't know? Regardless, I do believe in weighting over time, but I'm unconcerned with how much weighting and when it increases.

What's supposed to happen is that some players get exalt drops, some don't, and the different drops players gets helps to encourage trading. You don't need exalts to play and the enjoy PoE all the way through end-game, but you do need it if you want to trade for some of the better end-game gear and items.

The problem is that GGG looks at the drop rate of currency and items over the populace as a whole. At least this is what they've hinted at in the past. They don't take just one player and evaluate their entire loot history. And that's where non-weighted RNG fails.

The idea of making rare stuff happen more often only decreases the value of said item. Why are alts worth less than exalts? Because they're more common. The RNG is the only way to insure that there is a demand for items as well as a supply. Some people want X, because they haven't had it drop, and others have 2xX because they got lucky. So trade happens.

If every player is assured X over time, there would be no point in trading for X.

Sorry bro,it would appear that dedicated isn't what you meant,in my case however,it means i can start clean without anything thats worth more than 1c and clear the game in 2 weeks with gear that at the time costs around 40 exalts. How did i get those exalts? DRops? nope,trading and understanding what gets you started do.

But its ok,keep asking for better RNG,since it seems to be the only thing able to get you started in a new league.

I don't have to see your standart stuff,i don't play neither care for standard,all i care about is to make my research prior new league so few weeks later i will be destroying the content and getting richer and richer,while people sit here and complain about how the game drop nothing for them.
