Diablo 3 Patch Notes

...and then we doubled it!

Skills:

- New DoT skills released! They deal 2-3x more damage than existing DoT skills!
- New Melee skill released! No longer would you need to use these pesky 200% weapon dps melee skills, here's one that deals 400% weapon dps!
- Golems were fixed. By doubling their damage! Except the choice may overwhelm players, so we took the most damaging golem, and trippled its damage!

Item changes:

- New set released! This is beginning of new era! Collect 4 Primordial Golemancer jewels and your golems will rule the battlefield! (if you don't collect them however, you will have half as many golems who won't even bother attacking enemies. But why would you do that, it's obvious you have to wear this set, that's the point behind the item sets, right?)

The philosophy behind these changes is limitting time players spend being creative and making choices. So you will faster begin mowing down the mobs while watching your favourite streamer mowing down the mobs faster than you and earning donation money on it!

New game mode:

- kill monsters. ON TIMER! So you don't do anything stupid, like playing non-meta or enjoying the views or playing your pace. You are not supposed to play non-meta. Farm faster!

On serious note: guys, where is this going?

Uh sounds like diablo 3 copy pasted the type of worker employed in the GGG balance team.

Yeah, some of the changes pissed me off too, but the comment about golems is just off the mark.

Actually, not all are required for much improved golems. They still have some variation and won't excel quite as much in every build/use of golems.

Complete fallacy. Nothing is "on timer" except for master missions. It is still viable to play less popular builds and stop to "smell the roses". If you can't seem to switch into that casual mode, stop rushing through the latest, greatest league.

He's referring to breaches and breachlords: you don't get the goodies if you don't kill all the new content fast enough, and the faster you kill the more/better you get. That's the specific design, i.e. the rate at which you kill breach mobs is critical. If you "stop to smell the roses", or look at the artwork, or try and check out the new monsters, then likely the breach will close.

Agreed, nothing except a few master missions has had this before now: but now, it's the entire point of the main new league mechanic. Which to me is a big jabbed middle finger in the face of any build not optimised for this purpose: not "kill stuff, however you do it, and see the new content" but "kill stuff really really fast or never see the new content".

Of course, GGG may balance it so you don't have to have top uniques powering one of a few select skills in a 6L to achieve this, after all their balancing of skills...
Yeah. Not gonna happen, is it.

If that enables a new "golem" build, why not? It's actually the only good change among those you mentioned. All others really suck.

Ah, I understand what he meant now. Not a "timer" that's visible in-game, but just a timed event. However, anyone could argue that this sort of thing has been happening for a long time, ever since Torment, where you only have so long to kill a tormented spirit or have it posses a rare.

So I wouldn't call that a "timer" but just an event that expires, or a timed event. It's just one little rush in the middle of everything else. And no one is forcing you to chase after every breach, as you can casually pick and choose which ones to pursue.

This patch turned out to be pretty shitty , I guess we'll have to wait for 4.0 for some fixes .
