DX11 shadows a useless and annoying feature, why do you hate us GGG
PLS Let us turn those off for the love of god. You were improving the game engine for quite some time now, then u gave us dx11 client which as it was written in the patch notes is 75%faster but you decided to force shadows on us which makes performance crappier, which in conclusion means it doesn't improve anything. It's like waving a candy in front of a baby "you wan't it? you wan't it and then u punch it in the face" this is how I feel. Reddit is flooded with players negativity about those stupid forced shadows, forum is also filled with disgust, isn't it enough to do things right? Or at least let us know that you will be doing something about it in the future?
Pls let us turn them off with patch 2.5.0. I have no clue and no logical explanation why a feature like such should be forced on us. New mute system is terrible - no trade... Last edited by y3lw0rC#4020 on Nov 22, 2016, 7:52:19 AM Last bumped on Apr 6, 2018, 10:26:05 AM

go whine on reddit, that's where ggg reads complaints, bugs, exploits and balance metas.

" There's just as much indignation regarding shadows here, as there is on reddit. |

" i know, it's me who shouldn't post. it's on ggg to explain their stance. preferably in a format that can be referenced to. age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

Oh fuck me, and they're going to be making DX11 mandatory soon...
My PC can soldier on through most anything with little to no negative effects, but the one bane of my existence has always been shadows. And I can't imagine I'm alone in this, shadows are always a GPU hog. GGG is making a big mistake if they decide to release this without option settings, I don't give a fuck what their reasoning is because it's sheer madness. This is a buff™

" I would think shadows are cpu intensive in this game. There are people playing this game with integrated graphics and getting good fps, meanwhile I have a 960 and im getting massive fps drops. My cpu is a phenom ii 960t so that's definitely a bottleneck. IGN Voliglare, TreeFusingSixLink Last edited by TreleInc#2666 on Nov 22, 2016, 11:33:12 AM

" More "special sauce" excuses from GGG. 'Everybody has to eat our unoptimized special sauce rain effects, because without rain, Youtube videos could look ugly'. If people want to turn off effects, it means they value performance over graphics quality. When night falls

GGG has literally called the DirectX 11 64bit client a beta product, POE v2.5 will incorporate the finalized version of the Dx11 graphics renderer so until then expect bugs and oddities eg: Ignoring the graphics settings, crashes, performance issues etc. should be expected while they work to finalize it.

" stabilizing a gfx engine based on mass testing round shorter than 2 weeks? i think you might be underestimating how complext the hardware -> driver -> os -> game equation is i have poe on 2 machines right now (they have identical HW except one having 16gb less memory) and one runs smoothly, second one crashes each time i cast ball lightning.. trying to fix that (because from gamers perspective it is the game crashing, no matter the real reason) is something i wouldnt like to do as a job. |

" When has GGG ever given new tech enough time to be tested? How many threads carpet the forums after shit like this gets released complaining that the game literally does not work anymore? How many times has GGG had to then hotfix multiple times over the following weeks to stabilize the Frankenstein they created? GGG's entire beta testing process would appear to be as follows: Can we run it in the office? Can the streamers run it? Fuck everyone else, it goes live. This is a buff™
