Breach: Completely Avoidable League Mechanics...

While I agree darkshrine was completely nuts, and should never be a competitive 3-4 month league, but I have to say it was fun as hell. And it was only 1 month!

Some pretty funny novelty items born only in that league and some other funny

"solo self found"
lol (not really though I duo'ed with a friend for the majority of the league)

Most importantly it was just all around non serious and fun. Loads of unique maps, that I would run and fail cuz my build was shit.

And although I abused 20q gems as much the next guy, but there were a lot of fun stuffs I preferred to do too when I had enough gems I though I could test with comfortably in permanent league, like adding mods to zone.

Also spawning warbands which I had never encountered before (my first time playing warbands content was in Darkshrine), and return of the tempest, which could be first time for some warbands players too, and all around funky stuff like getting muted in global for disclosing fishing secrets and useless effects and trolling players but at the same time teaching them "crafting bench" mechanics by wasting a shrine and putting your item in the darkshrine bench which would still contain your item from last try...

Well I definitely don't want any 4 month league to be as crazy as darkshrine but really I like to see more active league features despite their manifesto or whatever. Everything is just TOO optional now. Talisman - at least random monster had to have some effect on them which you dont want to skip usually, and even perandus packs were hard to skip.

Well its no doubt nobody is skipping essence packs and perandus packs since they are guaranteed currency but I really a more balanced thing like invasion bosses... like map bosses could be challenging and probably should be skipped for builds that aren't good but you really wanna squeeze the most out of the map so you do the invasion boss. A small bonus that is hard.
a challenge league is supposed to be challenging, when league's content is entirely optional - that s not challenging. Especially for racers. Racers just don't engage with leagues mechanics coz it slows down your progress. Example, prophecy, essence, talisman. If you are concentrated on farming exp there is absolutely reasons to do the optional content that slows you down and gives you vague rewards. To me, new leagues are just like standard now just a fresh economy and racing. I am no longer hyped to play a new league just because it s optional

I feel "wordy" in my original post after reading yours...but this sums it up quite nicely.

Glad to see others that feel the same way (although i'm sure there are ton of people that don't).

I was hoping that we would get an "all mods" filler league until 2.5 or 3.0 or whatever the next big thing is. I've never had so much fun as i have running double beyond maps and invasion mods ...even anarchy was kinda fun.

I love the "oh shit something dangerous" feeling you get for unexpected, in-your-face mechanics. It just seems like players like me are a dying breed though.
