The Goddess Bound - Build ideas

Well, you build it straight you got two problems:
1. Degen
2. Abyssus

I think you should work out how to deal with those two first and then go from there. Also, going for Abyssus means you're locked down to skills that deal melee damage, no spectral throws, molten strikes and whatnot.

A few things:

1) I've done the math and Vitality is actually better than Purity of Fire, if your Res is capped without the Aura (at least for a right side of the tree build).

2) After a lot of theorycrafting I came up with two different ways to play with the sword: A crit version (best as Assassin) and a non crit version (best as Chieftain). The chieftain is tankier but I was concerned about DPS so I went with the Assassin for my own build.

It's important to think about what skill you're going to use, and where that will put you relative to monsters, so you can work out the level of defenses you'll need.

Ended up re-rolling as a Duelist.

Still trying to decide what Primary attack skills to use.

Lacerate is functional -- but feels more like a caster.

I already have a lot of casters.

Should I go with one of the fire based attacks? Stack +Fire damage on top of the +phys I can get?

Does Scorned shut down Poison and Bleed? Otherwise Assassin with a lot of leech might be nice.

I'm really excited for "Blade Flurry" to come out since finally one handed swords will be getting an exciting skill (f*** lacerate and reave imo.) :D I really hope I can make it work with my beauty...

The one I have was made with the original recipe. Yes, seriously, the one that needed a 6l Exquisite. It was still worth it imo :D I love the dialogues with her... am I weird now? I guess I am.

I was thinking about flicker strike too.

How do you generate charges?

What other recipe is there?

Nah, degen doesn't count as taking damage.

ZSavage, I would be interested in your build especially since it uses all 3 swords in order. That's the way to do it, I think.

The current recipe calls for a 6S Lithe Blade. When the sword was just released, it called for a 6L Exquisite Blade. It was shortly patched to not require such an expensive item afterwards. There's only one recipe now.

That's correct, Scorned shuts down both.

However, Unleashed does not. It wouldn't be optimal in the current patch, but a triple derived degen (poison, ignite, bleed) could be quite cool.

In case you were wondering, my Unleashed build is an Assassin. I like comboing skills, so I have a Melee Splash Puncture setup on him, as well as Reave for my 6L. I think I already mentioned him in the thread but I'll repeat for good measure, his name is IzaroEcho

Second edit was to correct my bad memory of old recipe

The old (replaced) recipe was almost the same as the current one, except that it needed an eternal sword instead of an elegant sword and most importantly instead of a 6s lithe blade you needed a 6l (yes, you read that right, six link) exquisite blade.
As for charge generation I went FULL degen with blood rage (actually the leech helps a lot), also blasphemy poacher's mark and the blood dance. AND also faster attacks fortify blind frenzy. Just to be safe.
