Cospri's life leech bug is still prevalent.
This has been posted before, but it was labeled as "not a bug" which is certainly weird because users have been posting gifs and videos left and right where the bug is happening, but apparently the QA team couldn't find the issue. Here's a screenshot of GGG's current statement on regarding the matter:
![]() But as numerous players have pointed out, this matter deserves another look at. I myself have noticed this bug in numerous occasions, and I'm very happy that I'm not a HC player. The bug, where triggering skills via Cospri's unique mechanics cannot leech properly/at all on certain monsters, despite doing damage AND using both life leech gem and warlord's mark, which ends up in 4% life leech which is enough to leech back lost life/ES for elemental reflect maps. The occasions where I myself have noticed this: certain Essence monsters, and especially the lair/dark forest boss. I constantly have to run away from them because I gain no EHP back, at all, even with Vinktar's flask (I'm doing mostly lightning damage on my discharger). I've also tried T16 map bosses that are supposedly harder than T13/T15 Lair/Dark Forest, and leech worked properly, as it does 95% of the time. It also works properly on Uber Izaro and Atziri and all of the T15 bosses except dark forest (although I haven't run dark forest more than once, so I'm not certain if it happens every time.) I burst the bosses down pretty quickly, so damage is not the reason for not leeching. Notable keystones = Elemental Equilibrium, Chaos Inoculation, Ghost Reaver, Vaal Pact. Gems in Cospri's Malice = Life Leech, Discharge, Increased Area of Effect/Vortex/Concentrated Effect. Some videos/gifs to elaborate the bug, I haven't recorded these myself, but if it helps GGG to figure out, I can record more footage of this happening. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9gXGzdOLi4 https://i.gyazo.com/873180caa5f029225f0c290f647f3cb4.gif https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AglAdnDElc&feature=youtu.be <--- Warlord's Mark only https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFCUjKDDYlc&feature=youtu.be <--- Both Life Leech and WM So in the end, I'm still not sure what things add up to this happening since the player proposed fix of using BOTH warlord's mark AND life leech gem is not bulletproof. Apparently GGG has proposed the reason for no leech is because of applied curse effectiveness reduction, but unless this applies to BOTH Life Leech gem AND Warlord's mark, and its value is 100% AND the effectiveness reduction only happens on handful of monsters, this doesn't hold water. Please, on behalf of the Cospri's Malice users affected by this bug, have another look on the matter at hand and see if you/we can figure it out. I'll happily provide information and footage of it happening if requested. My character page should be public, current IGN: Verkkokauppa, if that helps. There is an active thread on this issue. No need to open a new thread. :)
As for the linked video's: 1. Essence of Corruption, as explained in the comments on that video, is Leech Immune. They're hugely bullshit. 2. Taking more Damage than is being Leeched, nothing to see here. Vortex deals Damage whaaat. 3. Can scarcely see what is happening at all, five seconds is not a whole lot... There is Leech, and Warlord's Mark leeches very little against Bosses. Discharge on a 3L doesn't deal a lot of single-target Damage. 4. Welcome to The Trio. That fellow has an insanely strong Reflect buff, I think it ramps up as his Life decreases? 2% Leech and zero mitigation is not enough to tank literally everything, including very powerful bosses. 5. If you're not constantly taking a shitload Damage and actually have a good amount of Leech, you actually Leech pretty decently. What else is new. Almost all of these bug reports come from melee builds with zero mitigation trying to survive on 2% Leech or less. Monsters deal Damage. Sometimes these monsters deal more Damage than said squish-tastic melee builds can handle, and it's reported as a bug. I don't know what Rigwald does, but if you're having trouble Leeching against him, I'm guessing he deals Damage. |

" 1. That I didn't know, thanks for letting me know. 2. Except it's HIS vortex that deals the damage. It didn't leech on the initial nor the consecutive hits at a single point despite having warlord's mark AND life leech gem. 3. In my opinion you can pretty clearly see that only his cyclone is leeching life properly here since it goes constantly up in small steady increments, whereas discharge, especially in the first few seconds, doesn't leech at all. Also, Discharge is one of the few spells in the game that deal good damage on mere 3 links as the scaling happens mostly via charges. The character in the video has over 60k Sheet Damage PER Discharge. I'm not sure how you could say that amount of damage could only leech in increments of 50, because on Core Malachai and T16 bosses that amount leeches for over 1k per discharge with 2% leech. 4. Counterpoint taken, did not notice who he was attacking. Will edit that out. 5. You're either contradicting yourself [point 3] or overestimating curse effectiveness reduction. The first complaints about this issue were made by the person in that video, and he's doing the same amount of damage as in clip 3 (both are from the same person.) The difference between those clips are a night and day even though in the latter video, he should only leech 4 times more. Slow down the videos (you can slow youtube videos down to 0.25x of original speed) and you'll notice that in the final clip, with both warlord's mark and Life Leech, he leeches more than 50 times the amount compared to only warlord's mark. I will have to find/make a clip about using only life leech gem to further elaborate the points given, but even with out it points [2], [3] and [5] are plenty to show that something doesn't add up. Also, YOUR mitigation has nothing to do with the amount of ES you leech back. The problem with cospri's malice is most apparent when a character with 4% leech engages with a slow hitting enemy that does barely 15% of your EHP per hit, whereas you're proccing discharge more than 5 times per second, and even then, you leech NOTHING back, and you will just slowly die because you don't leech anything, despite that enemy constantly taking damage from your discharges and not having "cannot leech" mod. But, if one blue mob happens to wonder around there and few of your discharges hit it, you're suddenly back on full health. I have no idea what your last sentence means. I can't leech anything back of him even when he's running away, dealing 0 damage to me, and my discharges are constantly depleting his life. Also, I have no idea why you're devaluing most of the bug reports with a single sentence, and taking that stance towards the matter at hand despite, (I assume, I apologize if I'm wrong) never playing the build. Last time I played a Discharger was in Perandus league, I had 2% leech, and pretty much the same amount of damage as currently, I was doing endgame content without bugs for over 300 hours. Leech was never a problem, spiky damage was, as is to be expected. Now I have doubled the amount of leech (although granted, merely multiplied by 1.4x on bosses) and I'm posting about these issues, because they're very hard to miss when you're playing this very build. Very spiky damage is still a problem on higher tier maps, but if you add inability to leech it back, certain parts of the game become unplayable. 2. Right, I see, my bad! Taking a second look now.. It's the same debuff icon as example 1: Essence of Corruption.
(again, it's hard to tell what the fuck is going on in half these examples..) 3. That's not his Cyclone leeching, lol. Warlord's Mark grants 0.8% Leech against bosses, which translates to 1 ES per 125 Damage. What's your Cyclone damage per hit? Reduce that by 30% for Resists, divide by 125. "60k sheet Damage" assumes a best-case scenario; full Charges, probably fully buffed, no mitigation. Atziri has 30% allres, for one, and against a single target you won't have full Charges for your Discharge. Read Jason's posts, he found average damage to be closer to 12k... "Also, Discharge is one of the few spells in the game that deal good damage on mere 3 links as the scaling happens mostly via charges." Charge generation grows exponentially based on the amount of enemies around. Going from 1 to 2 enemies more than doubles the average amount of Charges, which means average Damage/Leech goes up by more than four. Yes, Discharge can deal acceptable Damage, but not in a shitty situation. "Also, YOUR mitigation has nothing to do with the amount of ES you leech back." No, but if you're standing in a fire trail that burns you for 1000 Damage per second, and tank Cyclone on top of that, Leech isn't going to be sufficient. (source for this anecdote) Look. This is one of the multitude of characters thouroughly tested by GGG. They didn't find anything wrong. There are the staff posts on the matter. ------- "Last time I played a Discharger was in Perandus league" Back when there was a much shorter internal cooldown, and Discharge didn't deal 35% Less Damage. It's non-comparable. "I have no idea why you're devaluing most of the bug reports with a single sentence" Because GGG has thouroughly tested characters from people in the aforementioned thread, they found nothing wrong, and asked for a better, longer example. Ever since, the only reports have been blatant regurgitation (this), or clearly due to incoming damage (the second half of the linked thread, the anecdote above). So I guess my reason is that I'm kinda tired of reading the same thing again and again when GGG has put forth a fairly clear request; "If you wish to show any additional videos, please make them longer and show the entire fight. Only showing short snippets like this isn't really useful as it doesn't accurately represent the overall situation." - Jason_GGG Last edited by Vipermagi#0984 on Oct 4, 2016, 10:28:25 AM
