Blade Vortex in 2.4. why i see it as BUFF instead of nerf
It was a buff, even on bosses.
All the investment in either duration ore cast speed can now be transferred to simply boosting up the damage per individual stack. Reaching max potential faster and increasing clear-speed overall. Let's be honest here this build will have no issue's whatsoever on bosses with the proper adjustments to compensate for this change. It's sort of disgusting how this got true. They may have "forgotten" to mention a change to cast speed...
No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!

I think you guys are underestimating how easy it is to get to 50 stacks and stay near 50.
At 45 stacks that means your missing about 10% of your total stacks. Also your assuming you'll have 100% up-time on 20 stacks and that may not be the case. it's likely to be around 16 or something meaning your missing almost 20% of your stacks. So basically the fall off you'll get from losing stacks is higher. Moving around will be a much higher % of your total damage lost. While I do agree the clear speed for just regular mobs will go up a bit. When it comes to fighting a tough boss it's almost a 50% total damage loss. Players with high end blade vortex builds may not need to worry much though because 50% of 10 million is still more then enough to one shot almost any mob in the game. |

Its a nerf for the majority of builds it was in (flask finder) less crit proc chance with less blades.

Less investmend into cast speed & duration, more investment into raw damage.
It might be a slight nerf on boss kills but not as big as some make it out to be. [2.2] The Vampire - Tanky 2H Axe Slayer Duelist - /view-thread/1611662

" A cheap league starter bladevortex build needed 10-15 stacks to speed through packs with whirling blades and instagib everything. The boss kill time on the same build was a few seconds with preloaded BV stacks and it needed significant investment in cast speed and increased duration to maintain full stacks. Now you'll need 6-8 stacks, which are 3-4 casts with spell echo, and boss kill time will increase by a few seconds and still remain almost instant. You'll also need less investment in cast speed and duration. I'll bet the overall map clear speed will improve. There will be a noticeable slowing down only at the toughest endgame bosses and the kill time will still be superb. You have to be realistic about these things. what people don't realise at the first glance is that Blade Vortex is strong because of its unique mechanic and not because of its damage capabilitys alone.
While blade vortex got effectifly nerfed by ~53% less damage you still hit a monster 40 times/sec. Added X% damage as X modifiers can cover the damage loss to a degree if you build around it. Keeping up and reaching 20 stacks of BV is significantly easier too if you think about it - so it is a huge quality of life buff for those builds. If you can utilize BV with crit and flasks it will be still really strong against bossles in 2.4 despite the huge damage nerf. With perma flasks up you are basically immune with BV while standing on top of a boss. The boss will take you slightly longer to kill, but your defences and tankyness will be still the same. Leech isn't affected at all if you use vaal pact (you will still go to full instantly after taken a hit if damage is sufficiant) Blade Vortex is still great in 2.4 if you invest and build around it - a great build for upcomming content imho. |

" ... At most it is ~35% less damage and it can only hit a monster 20 times per sec ... No wonder it's lost, it's in the middle of the jungle!
