Yes, after playing atlas for almost 14 days now I have to say I love it!

I don't know? Did the expansion come out yet?

Cant say, haven't played it yet. probably wont get to the atlas itself until maybe 2-3 days in, and likely wont get crazy deep for weeks.

hopefully the essence strongboxes and new uniques/div cards will keep me occupied while grinding out the same 4 acts three times.

I believe it will be an game improvement but am not all that excited about it. It is just polish to the old map system.

Not really, is a cosmetic change to the endgame system with the information we have at hand.

The dynamic of the game and how you will play it won't change much for 99% of the people. So it's a wasted opportunity, but...

Being cautious I will to see how GGG pushes the game leveraging the new built-in system to make my final opinion.

I'll give the expansion a try but seems more of the same so far.

The way I understood it was the Atlas unlocks maps as you find them so that you can progress to a center-point challenge kind of thing. I do not think you can run a map indefinitely just because it is unlocked. You would still have to actually burn up a stored map. Although it would be kind of neat to be able to run them at leisure as many times as we like (once unlocked). To do that, they would need to severely nerf the drop rate of maps rather than double the drop rate in order to keep it challenging.
