Righteous Fire + Heraldds/Dmg Aura // RF + CI

Hey,

sorry I didnt found an answer to this question: Does Righteous Fire benefit from things like Herald of Thunder or Anger?
Next question: If you go CI with RF, does it count the HP you would have if you werent CI or just 1?

heralds and auras like Anger add damage to hits, RF is degeneration (Damage over time) that does not hit

RF cant be used with CI because your max life is 1 and RF stops when you reach 1 life

Anger is worded "You and nearby allies deal (10 to 69)-(16 to 110) additional Fire Damage with Spells" and RF has the Keyword spell in it ... technically it should work, too bad it doesnt :(

The casting of RF is a spell, but the actual burn effect is not, since something cannot be both a Spell and DoT at the same time.
RF is a degen. None of any damage auras scales with degen.

All the way to increase damage of RF is to scale damage over time and burning.

P.S And spell damage as well. You can also use Vulnerability and Flammability with it linked to blasphemy. Therefore they will be the damage increase auras.

Damage over Time is inherently not Spell Damage. As such, unless explicitly stated otherwise (ex. Essence Drain), Damage over Time does not benefit from Spell Damage modifiers.
A stupid question here, does RF count as you being ignited and/or burning damage on enemies for uniques like mokou's embrace and gang's momentum respectively?

Righteous Fire is not Ignite, but it is Burning Damage (all Fire DoT are :) ).
However, it's also worth noting that Damage over Time cannot do state-checks at the moment, so the Chieftain's 35% Increased Damage against Burning enemies does not work with RF. It will allow RF to boost the Damage of Hits, such as from Flame Surge, though.
I also play a RF build, and I now have 2 more sockets available for RF.

What could you suggest using with RF and what does WORK with RF?

I acually have RF + Increased Area of Effect Suport + Increased Burning Damage Support + Fire Penetration Support.....but I cant proof that Increased Burning and Fire Penetration have any Effect. There are no damage numbers that are changed. The only thing thats clear is the Area of Effect Support as you can see it working, making the circle bigger ;)

Burn Damage does work (Fire Damage over Time = Burning Damage), Fire Pen does not (Pen is an on-Hit effect. Pretty sure it also doesn't link up!).

Elemental Focus is a really powerful, free Damage multiplier.
I have Increased Rarity linked to my 5L RF, and very occasionally swap it out for Conc if I want to deal a lot of Damage.
