state of scepters
your sceptre is most likely in the top 10 of all times. it has all good rolls and high values on them. id definitelu use one if i had it
however.. BV works with pretty much anything so it really doesnt make sceptres good with it. you just happen to have a bonkers rolls as for the crit spells ele penetration rarely matters (inquisitor) - crit on dagger 'double dips' in thus case because it durectly increases damage AND indirectly via res bypass i think that the situation is even less sceptre-friendly due to people filtering sceptres out -> not picking them -> not many for sale -> noone plans their build with sceptre in mind and if it all fails - catalyst has you covered nicely as it has great rolls for ele spells AND heralds AND prolif burn WB beats leap slam in one thing - it applies fortify along the travel path. leap slam only when landing. it is very noticeable when dancing around bosses. with leap slam you have to jump on the boss and jum away. with whirl you just whirl through it.. it seems minor but i find it highly annoying when forced to use non-dagger (or i have to switch to shield charge i do not particularily like) |

Scepter could use a better implícit, ele pen is okish and That is problably the best one we Can get.
Few That come to mind Increace Quality of attack skills Increace damage effectivness of attack skills (proporcionaly to the base effectivness) self found league fan

I have a few decent sceptres:
First used by my Flame Totem Heirophant, although I might replace it with the second, and I'll be replacing both with Shockwave/Ancestral Warchief later on. This one is used by my Vortex Templar (was Inquisitor, respecced to Heirophant for more survivability but not convinced): I don't have any rare daggers that beat these, nor wands. Crit is just too strong for them to compete. Singularity is actually really good, 80% more damage if your close to them. You can put a wither gem in there to get the debuff if boss is hard and just range debuff. Works great with temp chains

Were Wands always better for Flat Damage Boosts? I know that when I did pick up a Scepter it always gave me better DPS with Non-Crit Spells like Flame Totem.
Scepters feel like in a weird spot like Flame Dash is for Wanders atm for me you just sorta "deal" with them being bad. Just another Forum Signature in a Sea of Signatures.

for spells I dont think theres any real difference between sceptres and wands for an elemental caster unless you want projectile speed. Its all the same mods, implicit is roughly the same. Attack sceptres? Pretty garbage right, near impossible to find a good one. Still better than attack maces though, its just the same thing with better crit and a better implicit imo, easier to find a decent attack mace tho (I say easier, still fucking impossible to find attack weapons full stop if were being honest).
Its the problem with attack weapons thats been around forever, if they release unique attack weapons that do enough damage to ever be used then they will be better than anything you will ever find or be able to afford to craft, because the entire attack weapon drop mod system is fucking bullshit. Why should it take 6 months of farming 8 hours a day to find one usable 1h phys weapon? What exactly is the thought process there? Idiotic. Doeboys attack sceptre is savage, if I had that I would use it for sure. I use a sceptre on my arcer could be a lot better but it does the job, its better than a Doryanis for sure. The skull crusher was sick back in the days before flat added to spells and when arctic armour was actually good, its now in a grave at the back of my stash. rip. All old sceptres are fucked by the new implicit system sadly, they should have bumped them all to 32 and not 20, that was just a dick move by the devs tbh. I also have this sceptre that my Lightning Strike (pre red>green colour change)/Static Strike templar used:
Really a melee weapon, No good for spells, but marginally better implicit than a mace and decent physical damage. |
