The exp HORRID NERF that ruined my gameplay.

Alright so, I dont know if this is the correct place to post it or if mods even bother to reply here or even look at, but I just wanna say that last league I managed to bring my very first ever character to lvl 96, a scion.

With the release of patch 2.3 I dont know what weed passed through to the mind of mods, the Scion was nerfed to the ground (whirling blades, the leech was reduced, fortify was nerfed aswell, etc etc) and to the point that it wasn't playable anymore - a lvl 96 Scion with a 200 exalteds equipment and I died to the same NORMAL ATZIRI (not even uber!) that I used to do in maximum 4 minutes without a single death for ages.

I got pissed off badly, but I managed to get over it and I said myself I would re-do the build on a lvl96 witch, and that I would have levelled her to 96 so that on prophecy end I would have just moved my equipment to this newly working char.

Here comes what pissed me off and is moving me nearer to the decision of leaving POE.
I've been levelling my witch to level 88 and everything was fine, but after level 89 I noticed the HORRID FUCKING EXPERIENCE NERF you decided to apply (and got the confirm from asking a very wide range of people).
Until lvl 89 I didn't even notice it (maybe it wasn't even there), but now AT LEVEL 92 I DO 5-6% EXP PER FULL GORGE/PLATEAU ROTATION, WHILE WITH THE SCION I USED TO DO 5-6% EXP PER PLAT/GORGE ROTA JUST AFTER LVL 95-96.
What's the difference you may ask? well, having 3 points less, I can't take an important jewel slot and another important ES passive anymore.

In short, from what I understood, you nerfed the experience for like 80% (I used to do like 18% exp in perandus rotations at the same level and in the same maps).
Can you explain me at what use what is necessary? not everyone has the time to play 20 hours a day to bring his character not even to 100, but to 94-95!

I would like something to be done WAY BEFORE the prophecy league ends, what I suggest is to bring the damn exp rate back to what it was, OR, if you wanna nerf it, nerf it only by 5-10%.

The summary of this text is, you nerfed my favourite and superb character I had made with all my effort and passion to the point it couldn't be used anymore, I was pissed off but after some weeks I got over it and decided to re-do it, and now you're putting me in the conditions that I can't re-do what I just did already?

I would like just the reply of some developer, I would like him to read this text and apply some empathy to feel how I was literally BUTT-FUCKED over this nerf.

Just runed some maps and Gorge att 92 give me abouth 1% exp.
They dont whant you to go higher becouse thers nothing to do after 92 realy thengo to Dried lake and farm curency...

Yeah but atleast the one who takes it in the ass are the ones who don't play 40 hours each day like me because those who were lvl100 are still lvl100 after 1 month.

tl;dr version of the thread: It used to be easier to level past 90, now it is harder.

While I totally understand the notion, I can't stop thinking that GGG can NEVER make any numerical change that decreases anything/make it harder. If they ever do that, there will be always someone to scream that IT USED TO BE MORE. I mean, guys - please, understand.

When you balance a game, you sometimes slide things up, but sometimes you do so to the opposite side.

I do agree to some point. that change wasn't very well implemented (especially because highest tier maps are kinda pointless now), but you fail to give any good reasons, other than I got pissed, because one character I made isn't as powerful anymore.
Tons of my previous characters aren't even playable anymore - my CI bow Witch cannot even equip everything she used to use, lol... Changes WILL wreck current builds, but if they make game better, it is always worth it.

The good reasons you are looking for are already explained.

1) This change was just a mean to stop people from hitting 100 after 1 month after the season beginning, yet GGG failed because there are still people to level 100.

2) This effective change just made the game harder for whom doesn't play the game 20 hours a day because has sadly a real life waiting for him.

3) A 80% nerf at level 90 is just TOO MUCH, for even those who don't want to reach level 100 but just level 94-95.

4) GGG doesn't care of the effort people put in making previous characters, which, once nerfed, can't be remade anymore.


How do I request a mod to review this topic and give his opinion?
OP, players enjoy a harder grind to reach high/max levels. Let them have fun.

t11 maps at 89 used to give roughly 10% exp, this league they gave me something like 4-5% exp i think.

not like it matters though. as long as single map exp gain doesn't go below 1% in a ridiculously low tier map, reaching 90+ will still be simple. going for 100 never was mandatory.

I think youll find it was to stop them hitting lvl100 in 5 days, and it worked. Trust me, ppl who played all the way to lvl100 ate more of the nerf than people who got to lvl90.

I think the lesson to be learned here for GGG is that if they feel a given buff may need a counter nerf to balance it, do the nerf at the same time and then remove it if it feels unnecessary rather than the other way around. Makes me wonder how ppl will take to monster life buffs, which are surely coming after all this power creep recently.

One thing that I used to do in D2 was every once in a while I would fire up an old character and play it a little for fun. At first I tried to do the same in PoE. I quickly learned that couldn't be done in PoE. Now, when I decide to play a new character, I just strip my old character of all equipment and usually delete the character. Here's my thought. For how complicated it is, PoE is actually a pretty well balanced game. This is a big plus. On the negative side I had to give up playing old characters. PoE changes frequently. Usually those changes are for the good. I do admit though that I have a bit harder time understanding what was good about this change though?
