Login to hideout not town
|
Because hideout loads a lot faster. Anyway probably we can agree that most of the characters we play have reached the point where we have our own hideouts and do maps. Why the need to wait longer town loading screens just to leave it immediately to hideout?
I don't like waiting two loading screens, especially when the first one (town) is longer. This gives me 0 entertainment, on the contrary - this unnecessary hassle makes me feel less happy, more annoyed. edit: It would be just for the better to all of us who play this game, except maybe for one tinny reason - you might want us to see other people's microtransactions more frequently for the sake of marketing/business stimulation. Yeah and if we dont have a hideout just make them load to town. I was just thinking the same thing whenever I join a Highgate with 50 people all with a shit ton of MTX and the game freezes for a second or 2 everytime a new person joins. It would help tremendously but I dont see them doing anything about it.

i agree , other peoples mtx effects just makes unnecessary problems . Also why not give the hideout the noticeboard for public parties too . This would be improvements ggg imo .

I think Chris has already answered this in one of the Q&A's. They won't do it. Forced social interaction (mandatory town visits) is vital for their business model. MTX sales would drop if people can't show them off in towns.
Of course, those lag spikes in towns caused by MTX resource loading are very annoying. But they are working on the performance issues. |

This was never an issue before the preloading patch. But now MTX loading is causing a major pain in the ass for most computers. GGG might think 3 second intro screen loading time is impressive. You know what's even more impressive than that? 20 second intro screen loading time and no fucking stuttering spam when your character enters the game.
Hopefully it really is as simple as "working on performance issues." Right now it's somewhat baffling that they don't take the obvious solution of preloading MTXes at login screen. My guess is that GGG and all its QA and beta testers have computers worth over $9,000 so they load MTXes in a snap on their SSDs and look down on us plebs wondering "what are they complaining about now?" " That logic is kinda flawed here. I don't want to show off my awesome MTX to random strangers, I want to play the damn game and not wait minutes till I can enter a town. Also it's unfortunate to release a new town-only NPC at the same time when going to town has become such an awful experience to many players. |

I'm upping this,
Logging to hideout would be so useful for endgame content. About the "social interaction" thing, i guess there just would be less instances, right ? So, same apparent density of players. |

no all must see how shiny I am!

" but they want others to see your awesome MTX so they perhaps would also buy it. |

besides all of that there are technical aspects to logging you straight to your hide out. Has to do with how areas are spun up, and managed.
Tossing you into your HO right away would take longer to get you into the game, as the instance has to be spun up. Also if the player is not heading straight to their hide out, spinning it up for no reason at all, just adds extra loads. It's a balance act on when to load what. Tossing players into a town that is already spun up is much easier on the server, than trying to spin up millions of hideouts. Granted later on in the league, or in the more cramped standard there is a bit of a counter point. So what is good management for league is less good for standard, but it's not likes a pick and choose mechanic. The MTX thing is of meh value cause people see you more in your HO than in town during trading. The main reason has to do with how instances are managed and dealt with. |
