" Sadly this is true, PoE is definitely better made and the devs obviously care about it while D3 is just a piggy bank for blizzard, however blizzard are famous for dirty tricks, one of their favorite is buying up ALL advertising space just before the release of competing games so even if they have the money to afford adverts there wont be anywhere they can buy advertising space anyway. And of course they don't even need to use their underhanded tactics as even though they've put almost no effort into D3 all the retards who buy things because of a name will buy it regardless because *its a diablo*. If this game was a completely new title it would flop massively as it just looks badly made and the real money AH is the dumbest thing ever which should by all rights make it sell no copies at all (at least it should stop all people with a IQ above 50 buying it, but its a diablo so nobody will bother to look into it or even think about it and will instead buy it then realise they've been conned, by which point they've already bought it and can't return it, at which point blizzard don't give a damn. |

Lots of LOL in this thread from people who are raging PoE fanboys and haven't touched Diablo 3. PoE is a good game in its own right, and I enjoy it...but Diablo 3 is a better game. I'm in the beta for both. Guess which i've played more, even though the Diablo 3 beta is extremely limited?

I've seen more than enough content of D3 to make up my mind from people who were looking forward to it, and most of it they were disappointed by and watching videos of it has just made me not want to play it more, watching videos of PoE made me want to play it more.
The only really interesting thing that D3 has is... er.. the skills are sort of interesting how you level them, crafting people are trying to say it good but lets face it the crafted stuff will be worthless compared to dropped loot or why the hell would anybody try to kill tough mobs... I honestly don't see how anybody can play the D3 beta more than once its not even like the levels are randomly generated anymore your playing the same content over and over with the only interesting thing being the animations, the story looks pretty shoddy so far (specially the fact that I killed leoric in D1 no matter what they say) I'm sure some people will enjoy D3, most will be playing it because its part of a franchise and they are to dumb to make their own mind up about a game or research it before hand. For me though PoE is just better made, looks more enjoyable and has a better future. Hell the way D3 has been going I wouldn't be surprised if we got a PoE 2 with 100x more features and better animations than D3 before D3 is even released... |

For me atleast i wish i could try out the D3 beta to be able to record and showcase some , and do compare videos on D3 & PoE that are atm my most anticipated Hack & Slash games.
And show ppl what i think are the pro´s and con´s of the games. And so i could actually also comment and talk more about it when it comes to debates like this , because since i have not played the D3 beta myself. I cannot really say more then ppl rage/flame or showcase of it. And try to make a decent conclusion of it. But i am still hopefully watching for it :) But EU seems to have a backseat on the D3 beta invite ^^ US seems full of life :) Cant have to much Junk in your Stash

" You didn't put in anything to back up your statement... does that make your opinion any more valid than mine? I'm not saying PoE is a BAD game, because it isn't. It's fun, and considering it wasn't developed by a big dev, it's quite well made. But Diablo 3 is simply better..everything from the storyline to the characters to the abilities. It's all varied and unique, which is something PoE lacks entirely. A witch and a ranger can use the same skills. One might use one more effectively than another, but it's just not enough differentiation between classes. The passive skill tree is absolutely "meh" at best...it looks huge, but nearly every one provides a meager bonus that you can barely notice. Graphics are a toss up.. it's a different art style in each game. I think PoE does a better job on some things, and Diablo 3 does a better job on others. Landscapes and character models are great in PoE, but Diablo 3 blows it away in animation and general skill graphics. I DO like the flask system, and think it's better than generic potions. Both games have pros and cons. When it comes down to brass tacks, PoE is a Diablo clone to begin with, and it's ridiculously obvious within your first thirty seconds of play. While it does some things quite well, when you place it next to Diablo 3, it's clear which one is the clone, and which one has by far more overall polish and direction. How about this.... wait until both games have been out for a year, and see which one has more players. |
