How exactly Doomfletch Prism works?
Undead Cyborg, competitive with top-tier rare bows you mean? Alex_Lied, mobs are extremely dangerous for EV builds as they are. I can't buy idea that increasing their damage by such singnificant margin 1 ex worth item with one good (even if it's extremely good one) affix worth it. >> Will it be viable end-game? If you build around it, yes. Are there better ones? If you build around them.... maybe? << I don't think that many of even top-tier rare bows can match Reach of the Council. But you need to build around for D. Prism as well. What is easer? D. Prism or some good rare? Zephryl, I am thinking about Lioneye's Glare too. raics, Harbingers... What if I don't invest in crit at all? Can I ignore crit passives and gear or it's absolutely mandatory for bow builds? How D. Prism interacts with attacks that convert damage? It's bonus elem. damage always applies to 100% of phys damage? Also how about Death's Opus? It's +2 arrows effectively make it 7 gems weapon but raw damage though. Guys, thanks for clarification on this but I didn't asked about what will be better for my build - incr. phys or incr. elemental damage for Prism though. " Who told you that there are only EV builds with bows?? There are builds which focuses o armour and uses bows... check marauder build section for the example: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/740906 Also, there are quite a few low-life builds where people intentionaly lower they hit pool a lot by not taking any good rare with more ES (shav which is esential for build is not top-tier if we consider ES only) totaly cast of usage of their life pool... just to get 30% more. So don't say that 50-100% more is not worth it. " Define easier - with D. Prism you are 100% sure that you want physical dmg on your gear so choosing what you need is easier. Is it cheaper? If you compare to rare top-seller in poe.trade then yes. Is the dmg the best in the game and my build will be top op of all time thanks to this top op item..... seriously? Read my previous post.... " Since most bow builds focus on shadow-ranger tree's area, getting power charges and increases to crits and multiplers are easily available. Easy, not mandatory. ...and seriously, don't ask for informations which can be so easily found:
read this
http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Damage_conversion
"Added as This modifier does not replace the original damage, instead it takes a portion of the damage and adds it to the total as a different damage type.[4] Damage added in this way can exceed 100% of the source damage type, and does not need to be scaled. For example: - A player is wielding a bow that deals 100 Physical Damage, and using a Blackgleam quiver, Hrimsorrow gloves, and Lightning Arrow inventory icon.pngLightning Arrow, as in the above example. -Lightning Arrow skill is supported by a level 1 Added Fire Damage Support inventory icon.pngAdded Fire Damage Support gem, which has 20% of Physical Damage Added as Fire Damage. The result of the Converted to modifiers is the same as in the above example, the amounts are scaled to a total of 100% as normal. The Added Fire Damage Support an additional 20% of the original Physical Damage as Fire Damage In summary, the resulting converted damage would be 50 Lightning Damage, 53 Fire Damage, and 17 Cold Damage, and 0 Physical Damage, a total of 120 Damage." " One "Added Fire Damage Support" gem gives you 44% more dmg as fire, D. Prism gives you 330% more dmg as 3 elements - so it's like using 7 additional gems besides normal 6-link? Don't think about it that way. Think how you can use it and calculate what you get. |

Yeah I know but we are talking about glass cannon EV builds. Abyssus would be great for armoured powerhouses or whatever.
>>> Also, there are quite a few low-life builds where people intentionaly lower they hit pool a lot by not taking any good rare with more ES (shav which is esential for build is not top-tier if we consider ES only) totaly cast of usage of their life pool... just to get 30% more. So don't say that 50-100% more is not worth it. >>> But they build around having low hp while playing EV build (what we actually talking about here) need every hitpoint. >>> Define easier - with D. >>> Easier to find and get. I thought "easier" has universal meaning in video games since you always know what you should looking for - generally om PoE it's life if u need it, your type of damage / speed / defence, resists and build specific stats if required. Thanks, now I don't stress about crit that much. >>> ...and seriously, don't ask for informations which can be so easily found: >>> Description says "Bow physical damage" and it's extremely confusing just as everything in PoE and most of it's Wiki. >>> One "Added Fire Damage Support" gem gives you 44% more dmg as fire, D. Prism gives you 330% more dmg as 3 elements - so it's like using 7 additional gems besides normal 6-link? Don't think about it that way. Think how you can use it and calculate what you get. ,,, Good point. But it's still +1 gem with ok damage. So how Death Opus fairs in Endgame? Last edited by SunL4D2#6224 on Jun 19, 2016, 12:13:24 PM

physical damage (bor abyssus rings amulet, gloves....) will improve doomfletch , do your math, if you get + 100 avg damage, prism gives you 4 times this bonus.
I will never be good but always I try to improve.

There is absolutely nothing confusing about PoEs terminology.
It's inordinately complex, I give you that, but it is consistent in itself, and any reports to the contrary have resulted in quick fixes by GGG if they were warranted. Regarding High End Viability, currently offered high end bows in Prophecy offer DPS around 430, while Doomfletch's Prism was around 80, but there's 3.3x that in elemental damage not factored in, so you're only 100 short. I think that can indeed be compensated for handily through the triple efficiency of physical damage bonuses. It should be able to outscale most other bows that will grace a temporary league with suffient investment. If that investment is within your timescale/financial capabilities isn't for me to tell you. Deaths Harp has always been a niche Choice that could potentially be scaled up to the endgame, going through crit in this case. Deaths Opus essentially just adds more arrow. Helps, but in itself it won't make something viable that wasn't before. Zaanus:

"Literally nothing is a hyperbole, but not by much. An exceptionally large portion of questions are answered by correctly interpreting PoE's language. On the flipside, a lot of questions arise by people making assumptions, extrapolating on PoE's very literal wording, when instead stat descriptions should be taking at face value. "Does increased elemental damage only apply to spells?" is a question people ask, when the description itself answers the question. It doesn't say it only applies to spells, ergo it's not specific to spells. Example in this case: "Bow Physical damage" refers to exactly that; Physical damage dealt with a Bow. Doesn't matter if the stat bonus comes from a hat, it is damage dealt by a bow. 's Yeah. As someone who actually took the time to learn how to read PoE, I agree with Undead Cyborg. People love to shit on PoE's descriptions until someone more knowledgable explains that the description is actually correct, at which point the shitters quietly flee the scene. "LOL." (can you tell it's kind of annoying after four years) " Death's Opus also adds a whole bunch of extra base Damage (this was added after the initial reveal). It should be pretty easy to keep it rolling in maps; at that point the +150% Crit Mult should be triggering on essentially every Hit, making it an exceptionally high-power bow. |

" But like... you always have at least 330% as much elemental damage as physical... which means that both PPAD and weapon elemental damage should be best in slot... so much drooling.... If I planned to play a bow build this league I'd totally be hopping on the prism bandwagon. Abyssus no problem, iron rings all day... etc. Of course, no reflect maps :P Last edited by codetaku#0468 on Jun 20, 2016, 11:34:58 AM

Are there currently any builds using this item? I tried to skim the builds section but was not able to find one.
Seems to me most classes can take advantage of this weapon, I decided on Marauder for survive-ability. Although I attempted Templar/Shadow, but wasn't comfortable with the tree. What do you guys think of this Tree? Gems: Split Arrow > PPAD > WED > FA/Inc Crit Chance > Slower Projectiles with lvl 15 pierce from the chest. The only thing I am concerned about it whether it is worth trying to use Crit through Lioneye's Fall jewel (above RT) or just removing all crit and relying on the flat damage of the item. If this was the case I would most likely drop accuracy nodes and take RT. I'm planning to go Lioneye's Vision chest with Drillneck and possibly Abyssus if I can save up for one. Thanks. EDIT: Non Crit Tree Gems: Split Arrow > PPAD > WED > Elemental Focus > FA/Slower Projectiles (still supported by lvl 15 pierce) IGN: EmptyPalms Last edited by EmptyPalms#0028 on Jun 20, 2016, 12:16:26 PM

We are taliking about bow and you post.... build with staves increases, melee critical chances etc... Do you really play poe? From number of titles near your nick I would think otherwise but what you just posted.... if it's your first build (account borrowed from brother... I dont know), I would advice you to follow something from build section. Last edited by Alex_Lied#4288 on Jun 20, 2016, 12:20:30 PM
