My Fanboy Anti-Rage Post

So, hello everyone.

I come here to post something that has been on my mind yet again. I read the forums a lot(every day) to check up on news, builds, whatever. I am a big fan of GGG and PoE, because it satisfies my ARPG craving that I've had since Diablo...

So anyhow, all of these posts that are "I QUIT" "GGG SUCKS" "POE IS BROKEN" "PERFORMANCE SUCKS"

If you check General Discussion you'll see at least 2-3 of these threads...They pop up constantly, and most of us read them, laugh, and move along. This thread is not to bash these people because while they are annoying, they have their opinions.

This thread is primarily to point out that, in all of the time of gaming there is very rarely a release of anyhting that goes 100% smooth. I would lean more towards the side of it really doesn't happen...Especially in online dynamic games.

I mean anyone who has played WoW, knows that every expansion released the expansion launch rarely goes smoothly. People are in ques, cant connect, crashes, quests are bugged, you name it.

Or, lets compare it to Diablo 3's release. The game laucnhed and the servers were down, you couldnt even play. Then after that the game was complete broken and pay to win (real money auction house) after we already paid $60 to play it...

Then they've had to patch the game over the next several years to get it to a playable and enjoyable state.(Diablo3 s till sucks...)

Starcraft....patches released that complete break balance immediately followed by fixes and more changes.

Dota 2...patches released for balacne...Hours or a day later several minor patches are released fixing bugs, and balance changes. Mind you this is after they have tested it extensively and released it on the PTR for more testing from the community.

So, this brings me to my point...GGG released Prophecy ( patch 2.3.0 ) that changed a significant amount of the game. These changes cause changes in code...changes in code = bugs and errors.

There is no amount of in house testing ANY developer will do that will allow them to catch EVERY, SINGLE, BUG. They can't test it on every machine with every hardware...software, etc. It's impossible.

Yet, a small team like GGG released a huge patch that overall, went great. They then released several minor patches to fix the sound issues and bugs. They're sitll working to fix some of the issues other people are facing, doing everything they can to get the game flawless for everyone.

Yet, here are the select few who are seeing performance issues and unplayability flaming GGG like the apocalypse has come...

It's unfortunate, it sucks, but it's not intentional. It's purely the industry we're in boys. We're dealing with computer software...

Anyone who writes code of any type (HTML, CSS, JQuery, JS, C++, C# C+, Python, Pearl, ) etc knows that bugs can be insanely hard to fix and/or find.

So with all of that being said, if you get on PoE forums to rage and say you're quitting and the game sucks...Then just quit and save a forum thread from raging...

I am a fanboy ...YES. But I'm also logical. I've been in this situation with countless games...and I give them the benefit of the doubt always. Developing games is a tough task...and I just get to enjoy their extremely hard work.

Actually i kinda quit the forum game. The constant whining here is crating my nerves too hard ;)

Reddit actually seems much more constructive, relaxed and humorous to me, though i don't have an account and a lot of people here bash it.

People here bash it because they probably can't handled getting downvoted.

Think about it.. they can post their whining/crying threads all they want on the forums. On reddit, most of those types of posts get downvoted and then hidden.

I know this is not your intention with the thread, but I can't help myself:

"Whaaaa I hate traps. I don't know how to walk around them!! Whaaa!!!"

"Performance is horrible, you suck GGG, whaaa I quit!!!

"3k life and izaro one shots me whaaa!!"

"I want loading screens back, whaaa!!"

Just shit I see everyday on these forums... You are not the only one tired of this crap OP. I think a lot of us are. Can't even imagine how GGG members feel.

All those other games have a ton of QQ on their forums when they have bugs/launch issues as well.

So why should PoE be QQ-free when they have bugs/launch issues, when all those other games have QQ?

No wonder you read the title wrong, you're almost illiterate :^)

Hmm thats harrassment but since you sport those shiny titles a report would be a waste
Learned my lesson after calling one of you a freemium clown took 2 min to get moderated

That is not true and unfair. I've seen many people with more shiny titles get probated.
