Can we get a way to get rid of prophecies without wasting time/coins?

I've more or less given up on this league, the majority of prophecies are a waste of time and sealing them is a waste of coins.
As a self-found player, there's little I can do with sealed prophecies other than spend time backtracking or creating a new character. Backtracking just isn't worth the effort and this league, I'm really not inspired to roll additional characters. Basically, they become items for the trash. In my opinion: 1. Prophecies need to be relevant to the area in which they are sought. For example, If I'm in act 4 merciless I don't want a prophecy for act 1. Likewise, if I'm running maps, all prophecies should be map specific. 2. Prophecies need to be cheaper to seal/trash When I got to merciless, even after running prophecies all the way there, I had around 60 coins, however, when seeking prophecies in act 4 merciless, I went through virtually all of my coins sealing those which I felt were of no relevance or just plain boring. I think I ended up with two mildly interesting ones and a coupe of coins. |

The content is RNG gated and you want the coin sink to go away? Hold up you also want to get rid of the time sink for them too? You know you can just spwn the instance and go back to town and keep "Seeking" unless you want free rolls of a dice until you get the 6-link prophecy so you feel you're not wasting your time?

I think it was suggested already(didn't read all thread) but maybe make 2nd options just to cancel the prophecy for lower cost? So if you want to seal it you pay many coins but if you just don't want it, you pay less. Inb4 "oh but then people will just rotate them until they get good ones" - yes but they will still spend coins on them, but the people who just don't want shit prophecies could be able to get rid of them without grinding like it is their second work.
And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.

IMO, these kinds of "drops trashy unique" type prophecies should be removed entirely. While its true that coin sinks are required, i believe that these coin sinks should be at the very least useful. Fusings and chaos are currency sinks that have a chance of giving u something good, thats why its a good sink. With these kinds of prophecy, we know that its a waste of time. We know what its going to drop, and that its going to be bad. This just makes it a bad choice as a sink.
If you gonna make us backtrack and have a boring time, of course people are gonna complain. At least if the rewards were a little better, like small amount of currencies, or maybe randomise the unique drops so that we get a chance of better loot, i believe we would have a much better time sinking our time/coins. You are bored for looking here.

the more i read these forums, the clearer it becomes to me why perandus happened. ps. as a solo player, i really appreciated those "kill rare and find a shitty unique" prophs. they made my way to get the "id 50 uniques" suuuuper easy. [s]only mindless sheep think labyrinth is OK to have in PoE.[/s]

I don't mind the coin sink but PLEASE lower the cost for the shitty unique one from 8 to 4 like the unique upgraded prophecies, that would be fair in my opinion.

You see, forcing players to farm low-level content over and over again for something they need is a very bad behaviour. Corrupted Areas & Atziri clearly shown that. " I only received one prophecy for a unique drop, however, after numerous failed attempts to locate the beastie in question (Thundergruard) I gave up and sealed it (RNG) Anyway, I've stopped playing prophecy now. That aside, I also play solo and self-found and had no issues identifying 50 unique items within a few days. (RNG) |
