Lore Question - Where did the exiles come from
" That doesn't mean you're from Oriath though. As others have brought up, there is inspiration being drawn from GB-Aus. Britain, at the height of its colonial power, had a presence on every habitable continent on the planet. It wouldn't be a stretch for GGG to say that Oriath's influence was spread across many continents, and that they could exile you from one of their colonial territories to Wraeclast. |

Okay, thanks everybody guys!
I looked it all up (the maps and stuff) cause I got even more info than i expected and what's really interesting is how large whole Wraeclast is, there's so much space so i'm wondering if we'll find some nice new areas in some future updates. I really thought about the idea of exiles not being only from Oreath but maybe from other continents - when I saw that comment mentioning it and looked at PoE world map (just googled 'PoE world map') I thought that maybe there is quite a bit of chance that is possible - Wraeclast may be corrupted, but there's for example another continent to the left... I wonder what may future of PoE bring us... :D -Disagreeing with decisions doesn't mean one can't support the game.-

" I just took a look at the world map and I never really expected Oriath to be so damn small. I know that this map probably isn't supposed to show the real proportions but Oriath only seems to be about 15 times bigger than the tidal island. This is a buff. the exiles are mere pant-less bums compared to their superiors who sent them to wraeclast. Their level cap is only level 100. Those who exiled them at the flick of a wrist has a level cap of over 9,000, and have 10,000 skill points. As well as unique gems and jewels so powerful and beautiful that it makes those found in wraeclast look like pebbles. Their gear has 98 slots, can have up to 10 implicit mods and 100 explicit mods. I hear they can also move their skill nodes to any part of the tree they wish. And their classes go far beyond mere ascendants. They have moved on to risen classes, master classes, evolved classes, omini-class, and even ultimate class (starting from SSJ to ssjssjsjsjsjjjjssssjj god level 1000000......(and then ssjssjsjs some more)). Oh yeah, they also have pants.

" Apologies if this has already been mentioned -- I've only skimmed through the thread -- but I guess technically not all exiles are from Oriath. We know that Oriathian society has a system of slavery built upon the enslavement of the Karui people, so I guess some of the Karui exiles were originally from Ngamakanui -- the Karui homeland -- who were then captured and enslaved by Oriath, then exiled to Wraeclast for whatever crimes they subsequently committed. |
