Just wanted to say Melissa is considering moving the thread to offtopic if the movie discussion continues, so if you want to bury the thread now is a good time to spam about movies, if you don't, perhaps you shouldn't.
Although the thread's main topic being unclear, or at least not obvious to some, makes posting ontopic not the simplest of tasks :P " They simply invest so much in epic eyebrows, only a little is left for the beard. Oh wait, it must be ontopic.. *panic* Err, thanks for the appreciation lads, carry on. You have to be realistic about these things. I actually haven't responded to OP yet.
As GGG would already know and those who've visited my shamelessly non-private profile could guess, I technically haven't played PoE in quite a long tme. Shortly before Ascendancy came out, my girlfriend (a former d2 PvPer - I sure can pick 'em) was interested in That Thing I Spend So Much Fucking Time On. So I promised that not only would I let her play, but I wouldn't make any character during the league, so it's not that thing where you're waiting on the other person to go to bed so you can finally get on yourself. She made it up to yellow maps. Pretty solid for a new player. Although there was coaching. (Just coaching; because I'm aware of GGG's policies on account sharing and would never, ever help my noob girlfriend kill Izaro. Nope. Never.) Point is, 100% of my Ascendancy experience has been vicarious. I didn't play the game, I watched it, in between other things like fetching drinks or using my phone to make forum threads. (Although spending a lot of time with a new player picking up PoE grants new insights all its own; just in case people are wondering about my interest in the "half of players don't defeat Normal Brutus" statistic or my interest in slow early-game attack speeds.) And then my kids killed her computer, and no one plays at all - although she ragequit just days before and uninstalled, upon news Cadiro wasn't going to be a permanent feature, anyway. I still post copious amounts of stuff in the Feedback forum. I feel it's all at least well-informed, and some of it's probably great. So, really Bars, you might want to update your OP. With enough forum skills you don't need to play the game at all. I imagine Twitch would suffice. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted. Have no fear for your karma, Scrotie, you fooled nobody. Those that don't actually play the game stick out even worse than those that actually have girlfriends :)
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

" Ah, for the days of burning trees down to reveal secret staircases... ![]() PoE could certainly use more environment interaction. Some of the stuff the labyrinth adds is a good start, imo. " If you start early enough, you can play a pacifist leech and never kill anything. It's kind of a frustrating playing style, but the upside is you can focus all your gear and points on defense. GGG could add some XP to various quests, but then you have to kill monsters usually to get to the quest objective. " I'd love to see GGG add more to the game in this direction, but I don't picture the majority of players funding this direction with their support. They might be able to add in chunks of sandbox style playing stuff with each major expansion. "The only legitimate use of a computer is to play games." - Eugene Jarvis

" We all know that - it has been proven by mighty forum warriors time and again. No need to update the guide, you just have to use a few basic techniques like the casual Havoc/Mathil reference. It takes 5 minutes to check their videos/builds so you don't even need twitch. I like the girlfriend humblebrag though: camouflaged in a veil of self-irony, always a good one. Beyond reproach :P " Raics, defender of the forum, legendary warrior, isn't fooled! You have to be realistic about these things. 5 minutes is minimalist. Therefore maximalist?
I thought referencing specific streamers was against forum policy, because every thread must accuse them of RMT. My girlfriend hates PoE now. Which pretty much makes me a vegetarian. I guess Jules was humble-bragging too? At least I'm self-aware. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted. " The good thing about accusing people of humblebragging is it doesn't need to make sense. You just throw it out there and people will discover the meaning for you. So, yes - I'm not sure who's Jules but it was definitely humblebragging. You have to be realistic about these things. Logen Ninefingers Last edited by Bars#2689 on May 19, 2016, 1:03:16 AM
