I think that for people not playing much anymore to go over and play this so called end game forum game is having serious personal problems . No lifers , play another game , go outside get some daylight in your face , heck try to talk to girls .

I mean why spreading troll posts , salty posts and/or disrespectful posts to players that still enjoy the game ( newer players ). To me the poe forums are among the worst forums of all game forums in the world including all game genres , it really is sadly.

About PoE forums being the worst, I don't know how many gaming communities you have been a part of, but PoE is positively benign in comparison with some. I've played some PvP games over the years where people would actively seek each other and fight in real life over some stupid ingame shit and flaming. There was a CS tournament in my home city where actual guns were pulled out. Overall, any anonymous internet forum brings out the worst in some people. I don't feel PoE's community deserves such a harsh judgement.

Not to mention that the most negative post in this thread so far is... yours. First off, you can't presume to know everything about a bunch of anonymous strangers. Someone might be restricted by sickness, or perhaps their work involves periods of inactivity which are filled in with some forum banter. There are a thousand other possible circumstances and you have no way to know them. And, even if someone does indeed have personal problems, don't they deserve a bit more understanding and kindness and less harsh words? I don't see how calling them 'nolifers' will help in any way, shape or form.
You have to be realistic about these things.

PoE is not a sandbox game.

The story is linear and mandatory, with minimal exploration.
The world is static, you can't change it or interact with the environment in meaningful ways.
Someone over told me that the endgame is the game, and according to that logic Path of Exile is a sandbox game with no real story to speak of (unless you actually listen to Zana), there's only the vaguest linearity (which can be bypassed by trading for maps), and the content is highly randomized to make it not static at all.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

hmm i was maybe a bit of an asshole against them , but imo they deserve it if they say stupid stuff on purpose that are not "kind" . meaning they are a holes .

wow some crazy people you described there , because of a game they gonna fight eachother , what game was that ?

I agree with you on your part of them maybe cant go outside for different reasons , yeah that may be true for some but i doubt most of the trollers are in that situation . Also if they are not playing anymore why make a forum like poe forum a bad place to discuss stuff . They should imo move on and have fun with another game etc. I get you but my opinion of poe being one of the worst forums of games i really mean . I was not talking about you in case you misunderstood but more in a general sence .

I know you weren't talking about me. I also know it wouldn't apply to me even if you were. Just putting it out there as an idea - it isn't about what they 'deserve'. Trying to be more understanding will make you a much better person especially if they don't deserve it. It will also improve your internet experience - it's much more pleasant if you are calmer.

edit: the games with the most militant communities I've played were DotA and Counter Strike. Cyber cafes were very popular in my country at some point, there were cafes with a hundred PCs and this made physical contact easy.

The contact sometimes became a bit too physical :D

oh man counter strike lol i should have guessed that :)

Yeah i remember the internett cafes with games like that . i really didn't care for shotting games , only 1 shooting game was cool imo : fallout series .

You probably are right about being more "understanding" but it bugs me they are ( some ) disrespectful to noobs etc .

For my personal experience getting into this game it wasn't pleasant and i had a bad luck meeting a holes in this game . A lot of them actually , i was like what the hell i heard so much positive things of this game and its community , it wasn't true at all . I read the forums almost daily and i see other people get the same shitty treatment that i got .

I miss those days, playing CS 1.6 at internet cafes, watching but hurt people scream at each other.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
i would like the "step-by-step forum leveling guide", please go on.

i long resigned on the forum game and now resort stating the obvious. like: "creating a often frustrating game results in often frustrated players".
age and treachery will triumph over youth and skill!

When a game market its self as "hard core", it WILL attract elitist duchebags. Some of them goes so far as viewing themselves as better people because they have more time to spend on video games. I think it's cute, in a petty sort of way.

Hmm, right, if you're referring to Fallout series as a shooting game it's no wonder you don't remember times when playing games was also a real-world social experience. It was no different then, players would argue over same things, who's better, who's more hardcore, which game is better. Except when you visit an arcade or console parlor you're withing hand's reach of the one you're arguing with, getting your head busted a few times develops your sense for polite argument quite rapidly.

You can probably notice that older players are usually more polite and reserved online, that isn't because age somehow brings wisdom, stick is just a very efficient personality modeling method.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
