Blood Magic and Life Regen

I dont even understand why people take blood magic.
Seems worthless. You gain basically nothing but wasted points getting there for convenience of not clicking mana pots. I have 3 different chaos Hardcore characters, and none of them run oom with 1-2 mana pots. Bloodmagic, to me, is just a bad keystone. For that same amount of wasted points getting something that I can take care of with endless pots, I can pick up a whole damage node and more. It seems like a convenience keystone, because it doesnt better your hero in any way imaginable, just allows you to roll with 5 health pots instead of 3/2 or 4/1 or whatever you feel like using. I can see your point on some of the regen talents, but I dont see how they make blood magic amazing, when I never run out of mana to any degree that a press of 1 or 2 doesnt fix. To me, you basically just waste all the points you put into regen just to counteract blood magic which does nothing for your character, so in effect your regen talents do nothing for your character either, since you are using them to counteract bloodmagic. Just seems like a ton of points to waste for basically no gain whatsoever outside of convenience. |

" It's been explained plenty of times, but I'll do it once more: 1. Life Flasks restore about twice as much as mana flasks, and can typically be used three times compared to Mana flasks' 2 times. 2. HP bonuses give more HP than mana bonuses give mana (i.e. +45 HP for siding with Oak vs +30 MP for siding with Alira) 3. Allows you to use five HP flasks 4. Allows you to stack +Life bonuses, +Life on flask bonuses, and life leech bonuses without worrying about mana 5. Allows you to use existing life restoration skills and curses to power your skills, such as Warlord's Mark and Blood Rage. There are many advantages to using Blood Magic. |

make spells/skills cost 20% more when you have the blood magic node (I specify the blood magic node to leave out the unique granting blood magic, since it already has a 100% incrased cost).

" Think of it this way: If the cost of your skills is less than the difference between effectiveness of Life Flasks and Mana Flasks, Blood Magic is an increase of survivability. Outside of that, yeah, it's pretty much a convenience/self nerf thing. Unless you reach the extreme of where you cannot support your attack spam with mana flasks alone (Frenzy Charge users with a 5 support gem link up sounds like a good candidate for this). My marauder is built around regen and I can tell you it's not OP
The amount of dmg you have to sacrifice to get all the life regen nodes is nuts. Especially if you grab blood magic/resolute technique. And I have all 7 endurance nodes on top of that. I still get blown up by certain mobs in chaos. It's not all it's shaped up to be. Blood magic is fine considering how many points you trade to get it. For most classes, it's quite a diversion. "you combined defense with even more defense, ofc that way you don't get OP...but using 2h and lifereg + bloodmagic w/o extra endurance charges is really strong I would like to see the "less life regen"-downside on bloodmagic too, sugested that in another thread too. If I could reroll my character into another class, I guess it would be a duelist now and not a marauder, since u don't need absolutely every lifereg node I'd like his position in the tree more with the 1% node extra now...and that really feels wrong, that he is stronger with such build | |

Just spitting out something, no clue about balancing:
somehow its also connected to AoF. future uniqes are dangerous too, think of AoF + "you cannot be frozen"-sword. Bloodmagic You spent life instead of mana. possible downsides, besides the already mentioned ones: -You spent mana instead of life (+switch globes on UI) -You cannot leech life and mana (no more 5%rings+7%bloodrage) -You can only have 1keystone, in this case Bloodmagic -You cant pick +x%lifepassives, only oak or items -You dont have any Armor or Evasion (making it dex/int, opposite of chaosinnoculation) -Halves the Liferegeneration (slowing it down) -Damage done from enemy Critical hits get doubled -Weakness against curses, there is no 1-curse limit on you (implement mobs that cast curses) -You can only use 1Hand Swords - -100% Attack/Castspeed -You need 10passive-points to pick it +VLFBERHT+
