Sci-Fi-ARPGs?

So, i`m kinda wondering why there are no real sci-fi-arpgs.
Sure, some shitty games have been released (Greed, Spacesiege,Darkspore etc.) but there
has never been a tripple A (or B for that matter) sci-fi-titel.
I`m not talking bout semi space-sim-arpgs like freelancer,
i`m talking bout a Diablo-like game in a sci-fi-world.
Just imagine the possibilities:

-Art-Design could go crazy, not just diffrent zones on a planet but whole diffrent planets, etc.
You could do jungle-like-planets, gritty/dark alien-like spacehulks, technocrazy cites and and and. Mobs could differ from Zerg/Alien-like creatures, to mechanized units, humanoids with firefights included, etc. .

-Skillvariety would be all over the place. You could have ur ranger-like chars, just with guns (laser, projectile, etc.). Melee could be done aswell: powerfists, swords, etc.. Magic could be explained with psychic-abilities (Eldar in Warhammer 40k for example), summoning chars could go with drones, mechs, robots, etc. .

-Loot and equipment offer massive possibilities aswell, augmentations, implants, armor, shields, etc.
and the list goes on.

Give a game like this a well thought skill/gear/attribute-system, a polished look/soundtrack and fluid gameplay, get influences (art-wise) form Alien, Halo, Bladerunner and all the other great sci-fi-franchises
and i would probably lose my job, my girlfriend and a lot of weight...but i`d love it.

I`m realy happy with PoE (got nothing negative to say, besides syncing-probs), but after nearly 20 years of beeing a gamer, i`d love to see one well done sci-fi-arpg.
I would assume there isn't much of a market for it- or at least, no-one has done the research to find the market if there is one. That's just speculation, though- like you, I have always wondered why no-one has done it yet.
I'm not a n00b- I'm a Online Game Floor Examination Expert.
All the things I want to remember are in the places I'd like to forget.
You should probably check out Divine Space on Kickstarter. Even though it will be developed for mobile platform, it may start a trend of sci-fi ARPG's, so it's definitely a good idea to check out Kickstarter once in a while.

It would be great to start as a rookie Blade Runner in a dystopian 2019 LA, in a gritty and immersive environment, level up and hunt some Replicants ^^
Why isn't there a starwars ARPG is the real question
In Wraeclast, if someone tries to kill you... you just kill them right back.

Why is star wars seen as the only sci-fi reference? Its really not that good compared to other works.

its a space action rpg
Now that you mention, I'm curious why it isn't a thing too. Does Doom: Fall of Mars qualify? I still don't know why I haven't played it myself yet.
As mentioned above, there were some shitty ones, "Greed" falls in that category....but this just has "nice" graphics, gameplay/depth was even worse than what Restricted Area offered, and that was horrible to begin with.
Drox Operative is kinda cute,a Space-Ship-ARPG. But honestly, if i want to play something like that, i got Freelancer.
No, i m talking bout a welldone, deep, ARPG like Diablo/PoE in a sci-fi-setting.
There`ve been tons of "fantasy"-arpgs, even PoE is (dark and gritty) fantasy and there are plenty more coming (Grim Dawn for example), but not a single worthwhile sci-fi-game and i looked and searched like mad...then you just get something as aweful as Space Hack and friends or the manga/anime-whatever PO2.

I honeslty doubt that there is no market for this. Couple of years ago i might have agreed,
but Mass Effect, the Halo-Franchise, even movie-"relaunches" like Prometheus (Aliens) and Star Wars made sci-fi mass-friendly again imho. Just by lookin at movies, you get one big-budget-sci-fi movie (relaunch, remake, or new creation) after another, where there were near to none big budget ones for years -> Total Recal, Judge Dredd, Oblivion, etc. .

Are you kidding me?
There is definitely a market in Sci-Fic
A freaking huge one.
To me why no one has made one yet is because that creating a good storyline is time consuming and frustrating.

Most Sci-Fic stuff is just stuff ripping off other stuff to make sorta new stuff.
Evolution.
