Sci-Fi-ARPGs?
Its old. Harbinger.
http://www.gamespot.com/harbinger/ RIP Diablo franchise
RIP Bird Lovers of Wraeclast <BLÔW> Congrats Chris & others for cashing out! I don't blame you. I'll be saving money now... unless I start making a lot more. Can't wait to see if you guys start a new studio in six years! RIP GGG |

The only one I've played was Alien Syndrome 2007. It had its own (large) set of flaws, but also had a good amount of juicy ARPG sci-fi goodness. If you can pick it up for <$10 somewhere, it'll be worth a look.

Ok,I did know it´s not really a piece of game like this one...
but SPAZ (Space Pirates and Zombies)... ...may be worth a look. It´s topview and it´s about spacecraft fighting in space and it´s a game from an independent developer, but I get alot of fun out of it. What is has on the plus side: -about 100+ Star systems to investigate -about 40+ techniques to investigate / to find - 3 ships in your fleet to command if you wish -challenging gameplay - a nice little story to follow if you want,if you don´t you´re free to find your own way... On the minus side: - it´s not a hack´n´slay like this game or Greed -time has gnawed much of the oldfashioned graphic -it´s about spacecraft. If you can live with the flaws then you can get your hand on a about 75% rated game. I got fun for about 60hrs till this game goes OB...:) |

There's hellgate resurrection which is some korean published remake of hellgate. Hellgate gets enough flak from the arpg community as it is but at least this one is free. I think it's only 10 bucks to get all the expansions too, but I haven't logged on in half a year. From what I played it wasn't so bad and the farming aspects of it seemed legit, if you farm maps by killing tons of mobs fast a super rare will spawn.
Also Space Siege as well. I never played Space Siege but I only heard bad things about it. It's about as close as you will get to a real Diablo in Space probably. I think the issue really is that fantasy genre has enjoyed deep rpg roots beyond pc gaming. Statistically scifi genre games tend to fall off drastically when sales underperform compared to fantasy games of same production. There is of course blockbusters but when you know your product isnt a blockbuster and is just trying to fill in holes on profit you typically go for niches with more exposure. Warhammer 40k wouldn't have even existed without Warhammer fantasy, if that makes sense. If you want a deep SciFi Roguelike thats easy. Diablo clone, not so much. People who just love making games with no budget flock to SciFi aspects. Theres more creative breathing room when money isn't involved clearly. |

" Haha nice recommendation. I didn't know such thing existed, but then again it's not very original other than the grafics, reviews say it was a simple d2 clone... however worth a shot if you fancy sci-fi, I guess. I wanted to say thanks for asking the question, exactly what I wanted to ask, and now I will trry restricted area :) Christmas comes early - The Awakening! ┊ ┊ ┊ ┊ ┊ ┊ ┊ ★ ☆ ☆ Last edited by rusher21#4039 on Feb 4, 2015, 3:06:05 PM
