how many fusing for 5 links?

Is there a list of the actual odds anywhere?

Answers like 'its just RNG' make me sad.

The question is are the links pure combinations or are multiple links actively weighted against as well as simply having less combinations?

Eg 6! is 720 ... so a 6 link should be 1 / 720
5! is 120

6C5 = 120
720/6 = 120

so 5 linking a 6 link should be just as likley as 5 linking a 5 link ... oh except i probably didnt count the 1 for actually 6 linking it. So you should always prefer using a 6 socket for 5 linking even though 5 link chance is the same.

But i keep seeing the odds of a 6 link are 1/1500 ... that suggests that there is some weighting against.

I have no idea how many items you'd have to link to get an idea of when you have gotten rid of variance either.

None of the above confirms or denies what i wrote here as all those stories are well within expected outcomes.

Would be very nice to have a clear statement on how the mechanic works though.
Also with other rng aspects ... eg is there any pseudo rng in the game?

Roughly 100 or slightly more over the long run.

But over a short run, it can be very streaky. I've gone hundreds of fusing without a 5L, and I've also gotten four 5Ls within 100 fusings before.

The fusings for links is approximately 20% less than the crafting cost at the master bench.
5 for 4-link at crafting table so you can expect the average to be 4.
150 for 5-link so you can expect to spend 100-120 fusing on average.

That being said i've gotten incredibly lucky before and gotten a 5-link in a 6-socket in 12 fusings. I think having a 6th socket drastically improves your luck.

It only takes 1 Fus....

Have atleast 200 ready if you're trying to fuse something. Nothing is more mentally frustrating than only having 30 fusings and then sit in trade chat DESPERATELY trying to buy more fusings and each time it doesn't link, it pisses you off more. Going in with a lot of extra fusings gives you the mental effect of "damn no 5l yet, it's okay i still got 150 left"

My 2,000 hours experience says anywhere between 2 and 300, so yeah, basically no fixed number.

It really is about time that GGG give up on their "it's fun not to know" attitude on stuff like this and just give us the damn number.

They set recipe on the average chance to link.

If you ask about to give us numbers in general, yeah, community will admire.
