I would really, really like an offline mode PoE

So there's no way for them to change the server side to client side code enough to prevent this? Don't know what I'm talking about but it seems like it should be possible to make them not correlate enough to protect it.

I don't know, but sounds like a lot of work either way. Maybe Mark can chime in.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
I've been asking for a moddable offline client for years.

Yes, I'll pay for it.

Yes, the mods will be amazing.
Never underestimate what the mod community can do for PoE if you sell an offline client.
Offline client means you don't have to pay the leveling/gearing tax each time you want to try a build.

This makes it less desirable to play the online game if you just want to try cool builds.

This makes standard and hardcore even less important to temp league players.

This puts the onus of creating a challenging game onto the user (by forcing them to self-police not modding in items/levels).

It turns it the game into a sandbox. I used to enjoy sandboxes when I was younger, but now I want to compete, and if you guys get to go play in your sandboxes I have less people to compete with!

Couldn't agree more man, I bet I could easily put more hours into this game than I have on any game without any problems at all if I had some nice lag free performance. I mean I can play the game online but there just are them times when the net is just running like crap which sucks you get super hooked to a game then you get put on these timeouts from playing it due to lag so it overall is just a bummer. So yeah it's pretty easy for everybody sitting on godly tier network to bash the idea of an offline mode, but just because you have nice silky smooth network performance doesn't mean every fan of PoE does.

Playing Grim Dawn and even going back to good old Titan Quest and Median XL (D2) recently, made me want an offline version of Path Of Exile right about now.

No Ladders. Trading. "Competitive" leagues or whatnot.
Just me going up against the perils of Wraeclast, with the stuff this game still does better than any other, in my opinion: skills. Passives. Jewels. Cool enabler uniques with some lore packed into them...

I'd pay for Single Player Path Of Exile right about now.
More than I would for a AAA title on the market. A lot more.

I'd love an offline mode. It's as true now as it was in April. In fact I was hoping the xbox release would be a retail box/offline, rather than free to play.

People have different grind tolerances and work/life/play balance. The best way to satisfy everyone is via moddable offline client.

I'd be willing to pay a lot more if I knew the game would be mine, and still available 10+ years from now. I've gotten burned from enough mmorpg server shut downs to be wary of online only anything.

Offline client would solve so many issues, and enable poe play during travel. And it would be such a strong counter to the RMT market.

I'd buy PoE for offline and all expansions cos that way I could play it once I'm on a boat, now I can paly about 2 days from week if offline would b possible I could play every day;) but it won't happend. So I'll just keep reading forums on my phone a think and plan how I'll play once I get back home, which is 2night;) can't wait ;) GL&HF to all

I don’t need anger management, I need people to stop pissing me off!
I'd pay for that.

With that said, it'll never happen. Sad, but true. Well, it might happen the day GGG can't/won't afford the servers anymore. But with the successful business model they are running, I can't see it happening in the foreseeable future. There's just too much money in the current model.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
I'd be happy to see it, but then, there's lots of stuff I would be happy to see and know I never will.
Offline mode would be awesome...been wanting this for a long time. But sadly, until the game is cleared of the 'economy' that it has - or if the offline mode is made completely separate from the online one - it won't happen. Then again...with the XBox One announcement, it could happen...possibly...maybe...maybe...
I agree their networks are the main issue to fps drops and performance issues, would be great to just play the game offline with nice graphics for once
