Bearers and Volatile Blood

It's an unavoidable dogshit mechanic that only punishes melee, which is already in a bad spot. If you're dying to volatiles as ranged, you basically deserve it.

Personally I find them mostly a gear/build check for melee. They ensure you have close to max resistances, and a decent amount of life/energy shield. I rarely die to them unless I'm undercapped on resistances.

This might be true until you hit maps. But in t12+ maps, its only about hitting the right mob to get oneshot(you don't even need to play super rippy maps).

playing in very fast pace evasion/melee-spell hp (blade vortex) build is like playing in minesweeper. Don't have fortify always on (whirling blades support gem), don't have str builds 7k+ hp, cant control dps to check rare mods in crowd while flying with whirling blades with blade vortex on. Sometimes volatile mobs only deal 600 damage and sometimes them oneshot you. Being killed on map with 33% hp 73% extra fire damage affixes by volatile devourer on t11 map that too has extra life and maybe extra damage - it's not serious. If its melee gear/build check, then why i'm killing uber atziri and core bosses? i thought endgame content soppose to check my gear/build not volatile blood mob on easy mods springs map. I guess, i need to run white t13-15 maps because of oneshot mechanics multiplying with mobs hp/damage/maybe crit and maps hp/damage/curse/maybe crit and go kill uber atziri for fun while not exping.

Was 90lvl (~5k ehp) and died on dark forest map (vulnerability/extra damage), volatile devourer came out and died after 0.5sec and killed me, i was just flying through map with blade vortex on. Don't go on dark forest anymore.

What i suggest:
Better visual effects to see volatile mods in crowd (you easily see proximity shield mods, but not one of them ever killed me) - make so and i'll begin to use vaal immortal call or use range ability. You can even fuse proximity shield and volatile mod, i'll just pass these mobs then. But i dont wanna die because of random, i wanna die because i'm stupid. And devourers mustn't have that mod, it's not a minesweeper game. For now i only think it was stupid to make melee build.

It's a fast pace game, that's why it needs more visual information. While fighting bosses you don't read affixes you look for animations and ear for emotions to react right - that's fun when fighting strong bosses, but dying from mob because you killed him too fast to read affixes it's not fun.

Remove MF from POE, make juiced map the new MF.
For the record

Nothing killin' me easly only this bearer thing when I want to play in party. Many spell effects blocking to aware of them. No extra warning things in this game like sound alarm which has in item filter.

This content should be removed from game. I'm supportin'

Btw, if they don't fix those people not play melee anymore. Ranged builds much powerfull than others. Or 2-3 70-100ex items you get and play melee. 'till then play ranged but no sense play melee anymore. This game should fair and balanced to all type of playing styles.

Hate to resurrect this, but in my personal, subjective opinion there really needs to be a better visual indicator for Bearer and Volatile mobs or maybe some sound effect like a loud seething vacuum noise (like a high pitched squeal - or maybe just take the Most Annoying Sound from Dumb and Dumber as it will pair nicely with the Most Annoying Mod) as the explosion sucks in atmosphere. I typically kill them so fast that, after my subconscious barely registers that they were glowing orange/puple, I've already missed what it said under their names. Maybe make the description HYPERLEGIBLE as a solution? By the time I instinctively react/realize "was that a? --" pop goes the weasel!

These are the only mods that I feel are beyond my skill to avoid consistently even when I am actively trying/living in fear of them - even outside the game. In real life I jump out of the way or over circular tiling or floor designs and rugs. I can't watch Ghost Hunters anymore, because the word "orbs" involuntarily wrenches the f-word from my vocal chords at top volume... That reminds me, I'm going to have to apologize to the neighbors after I finish writing this. I flee in terror from any orange or purple lighting (Halloween is even more scary now). Suffice to say, my therapist has a lot on her hands.

Maybe in a few more months I'll be able to adapt? I've been playing regularly for 6 months, this round, and you'd think that'd be enough to get used to them again. Maybe it's brain rot? Who knows.

I always run maps in full screen and without the map overlay and health bars just to maximize clarity specifically to try to catch out these particular mods in time. This doesn't always work (otherwise I wouldn't be here, haha). I'd say I get killed by Bearers maybe 1/10th of the time I encounter them. Volatiles maybe 1/20. These two, added together, probably make up at least half of my deaths (others being random unlucky one-shots or dumb mistakes that I've come to accept).

When I notice the orbs/circles on the ground from the Bearers, and I attempt to get away... it's just not enough time (for me). Especially when you kill them so fast that it almost looks like only one orb/circle, but it's really 6 or 7. That's like having only one smallish ring and an orb as an indicator for what will be nearly instant death. Might as well be a random one-shot. As for Volatiles, I try to keep all orange/purple enemies (if I register the color in time) at the edge of the screen because I've been conditioned by GGG (my personal Pavlov) to fear them more than spiders/clowns/heart disease/cancer/terrorism/the atom bomb combined. But sometimes they run straight at you. The horror.... the horror...

My spell effects, like a commenter above noted, usually disguise the Bearer ring/orbs as well. I would actually prefer to deactivate the spell effect on my Whispering Ice staff (Icestorm skill) if I could, just to declutter the screen more. But does it need to get to this point?

Perhaps I just need to "get good," though.

These damn things killed me yesterday, i killed a pack of mobs on the other side of the screen, click to their side so i could pick up loot and took a bite of my sandwich, when i looked back i had half a sec to see myself go boom.

Just that

a) neither of those two deaths were to melee characters and
b) both of those deaths could have been prevented - on HC you should check nemesis rares.

Honestly I think that volatiles are mostly fine and bearers are also fine, but it does suck that melee kind of needs a secondary ranged skill for such situations and that bearers should get better visual cues.

Well, maybe you should next time eat sandwich while you are in your HO.
Remove Horticrafting station storage limit.
Never had issues with either when playing alone, it's a huge mess in parties though.
