[2.6] life Mjolner done right by Rico - Berserker version

anyone try out shield charge ?. I've found out that it can boost up my clear speed quite a little bit. Kinda love it, you just need to keep moving and everything dies out in a path, after that using ms to kill boss is quite easy. I tested in t11 now, don't know what happen in the higher tier, but it's still pretty good :D.
I will test it today after work :)


EDIT: I have tested it and I think that discy2524 needs a credit for a hint... SHIELD CHARGE IS AMAZING WITH THIS BUILD.

Its like playing train on a steroids. Excelent skill for pack clearing and overall mobility. I HIGHLY recommend everyone to try it out.

EDIT 2: Uploading Gorge timed run (2:39) to give you an idea what can you do with Shield Charge with high attack speed and Discharge with Inc AOE. Damage feels exactly the same on red T12+ maps with 2 man party (allready checked it out).

I'm still learning this skill and to give quick hint: dont aim for first guy/row in the pack - aim for the middle of the pack - shield charge will go through and "park the buss" there, bringing nice nuke right on spot (as far as there're targets in its AOE range).

In case anyone can get rid of blood magic gem. I think inc AOE is the best one with shield charge, a massive AOE will destroy more monsters without backtracking to kill a rear one on your path.

I'm current doing that, so it feels good, and I think we can make some improvement in movement speed, for example, by equipping Devoto's Devotion, it has a nice movement speed, bad ass dex (in term of more accuracy, you have more attack speed, and less dependent on dex nodes), and bonus attack speed. All of this means, you can improve a delay between each shield charge (you have to run to target then perform an attack animation), so that it can be turned to another target as quickly as possible.

I have totally 45% movement speed now, with all inc attack speed jewels, I think we can easily acharound 7 aps+. The extra points on ascendancy can be put in 2 upper nodes, that improves your movement ( also help you a little bit in type of map like temp curse + chilling ground, it's kinda annoying, isn't it?). So you can hit to nearly 60% ms (faster always feel good :D). However, about this part, it depends on your needs, so pick any ascendancy nodes that suit you.

Above ideas are how I think it can improve the clearing speed of the build. In some special circumstances, like Atziri or Uber, you may need to swap out some items. Guess I've written too much and sorry for my bad English :p.

P/s: I feels that it may cause some desync on using Shield Charge frequently, it's just my sense.

P/s 2: The new unique Death's Door Crusader Boots can be considered in this build, it has everything we want, + 1 endurance charge, immune to bleeding (prevent dying on shield charge :D). But this can be a league unique, so just grinding until you can find it, good luck :D.

I was using Devoto's on one of my previous Mjolner version back in 2.0 but at the same time I had enough aura nodes to empower both puritys. I now how it feels with 45%+ movement speed and I like it this way.

However I think that with this version switching Alpha's for Devotos is not something worth doing. It requires to much of an investment in aura nodes to support lvl 23 puritys this way. Skipping it and going down from +6/7 to a +4/5 max fire/light with just above 5.7k ehp is not something that I would consider "safe". Any additional +1 max res makes a HUGE difference.

Imo it is much safer to drop Grace and go with Haste. After completing end-game lab it is also possible to go for Juggernaut movement speed nodes as you said and this alone shoud be good enough.

I think yes, grab Scold's Bridle and with Unflinching node, you have 20% to gain charge, try to improve your attack speed then I think it's ok to proc that node. But with this solution, you will end up in less discharge than voll, however, we only need to gain 1 charge, so it may be doable, btw just go ahead and try it :D.

I dunno if that will work, you have to use Molten Strike for Bosses and Lightning Strike / Cyclone for packs and spam those skills. Dmg done to you via Scolds will be easilly sustained without any life lost however.

I can imagine this will be fulled mostly from power charges and than from time to time BIG blast will come via endu charges. So I would not go full fire dmg with this, instead I woul grab something like 4/5-6 charges and focus on elemental/spell dmg nodes.

There's also option to go Daresso's chest and Life Leech gem in Mjolner. This way at least with pack clearing it should feel almost the same.


EDIT: On the other topic: For those who want to maximise your damage output and clearing potential use this tree:

At level 90 dmg version

And 20/20 Discharge - 20 Controled Destruction - 20 Fire Penetration in your Mjolner.

This way you'll have 40% inc aoe (20% from quality Discharge, 20% from tree) Iron Will, Controled Destruction AND Fire Penetration at the same time. Pretty crazy huh?

This stuff with the Shield Charge basicaly one shots everything up to T15 that isnt a Boss or a Rare with high resitances (those needs like two shots lol).

Can you post some suggestions/alternatives for those who cant afford a Voll's Devotion? It would be much appreciated. (noob here,new to the game so dont go hard on me :P ) I just love this build and I cant wait to play it!!!!!!!

I think that you should also get a Doedre's Elixir flask, help you a little bit in case Unflinching does not proc. For Scold's Bridle, it seems to be mostly on time with endurance charge, may be 80% of time, I guess so. That's a reason I told you to grab a flask. Warlord's Mark curse also help you to maintain the Endurance charge when you are clearing maps (in case you can use it as aura). However, you have to do this with Cyclone or the other skills, Shield Charge is not fast enough to hurt yourself in a short time. After finishing work, I will test this solution further, hopefully, they can somehow fake a voll's amulet effect.
