Who still can not "Ascend" and why?

I can ascend but i refuse too. Gating a core aspect of the game behind anything (in this case a tomb rider look alike/clone) is straight up silly.

since you hate this game so much...

Funny to say this, it might as well be the next mini-game GGG implements in the next expansion behind which they will gate some new part of the tree. Like the good sheep they herded you should blindly do what they command.

BTW im an avid supporter of GGG and PoE and probably its one of my all time favourites (maybe behind just monkey island series up to escape from monkey island and heroes of might and magic 3, putting the game in the same sentence with those two alone shows how much i value PoE). The fact that i play the PHC (after having my account hacked) without doing labyrinth says a lot how much i enjoy PoE's playstyle and mechanics. What i enjoy even more is the Skill Tree which as i already mentioned got locked behind a silly mini-game.

What most people fail to understand and really bothers me is that when in the future they implement something annoying/frustrating/totally absurd or just plain stupid behind which they will gate the highlight of that expansion and the only thing that people are hyped about, most of the mindless chickens around here will wake up from their slumber and realise that it was after the Ascendancy expansion that you allowed GGG to gate things like this behind totally alienating ideas and gameplay.

Just ask yourself when was the last time forums where so full of negative comments/feedback about something implemented in the game? Something is wrong here even if some individuals cant see it.

I'm playing on Windows NT, I can't ascend. GGG, pls fix.

I understand - PoE runs like shit, even on higher end computers. But honestly, can we stop with that "I'm playing on 10 years old PC" kind of thing? :S

Funny, really you are very funny. I like you...
Tell me, you know any other game where the requirements have changed abruptly?

Until this expansion I could play ALL content without much trouble, now I can't participate in one of the most important things for the correct evolution of my characters. And this, of course, without the slightest warning from GGG.

Things would be very different if since the beginning PoE would not have allowed the use of "potatoes" to play. But I, with my great potato, played almost normally...

That is the point. Every developer has the obligation to continue doing things as they did, without leaving anyone out.

Imagine a hypothetical case... Windows 20 runs smoothly on computers with 4 gigs of RAM. Without warning, and after a update patch, computers with the minimum requirement of 4 gigs of RAM can no longer access the Start menu without Windows displays a blue screen of death saying "You're screwed"... You think that's fair?

Bethesda is known for having good ideas and terrible realization of them. GGG is a Bethesda subsidiary or what?

Here is the "Sky is Falling" thread link.
https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/539083

People complain this much every time something in the game is changed, whether it's for better or worse. The Labyrinth thread complaints are even fewer and less vehement than the Premium stash tabs threads we had less week.
I can't because of the game's technical issues.

I get dc'd and kicked out all the time right before the final fight and even after I've ascended and picked my nodes only to get back in the game and see I haven't ascended.

It doesn't take long now to complete the labyrinth, but it's hopeless.

The only reason why I returned to PoE is fucked up, I don't know if I should laugh at this shit or be pissed off.
I can understand people having issues with technical limitations, but for those that just can't beat it, it's really not that difficult.

I completed all six Trials and the Labyrinth itself in just under and hour, total. Granted, I was playing an existing character in Standard, so I had all of the waypoints and such available to me, but it's really not that hard. Once you understand that traps do percent max HP damage, they're actually VERY easy to just YOLO run through and potion up to avoid dying. I pretty much just ignore traps. Izaro is the only hurdle.

PoE has actually always been pretty resource-intensive. They did a patch, I believe, right before Release that streamlined the graphics and surely helped, but it's always been a bit tough for older machines.

That said, what you say is still right on. I have an i7 Quad core and 12 gigs of RAM ... and Izaro gives me lag death. I haven't yet been able to be one-shot from his 3rd form...

The thing is, the premium tabs may, or may not (depending on how indexers either do or do not continue to work), be a very big deal. I've never seen it blow up like that, ever before (though to be fair, I was AFK for a while there). The only reason the forum isn't still up in arms about it is due to the convenient timing of the expansion's release.

People do complain about evertything GGG does ... but not like this, in these numbers.

I actually really enjoy the labyrinth, but I still recognize that it's not really balanced (yet?).

People who hate the idea of traps will argue. I'm all with you on that; I love the traps.

Izaro is a big hurdle though, for some people, and not merely the same hurdle to others. And it's not all just play style.

Can't ascend got a burnout after Merveil. Too much loots, I'm not a mule.

On my first character was doing pretty well in the lab, only a few rooms from the final fight. I stopped near the furnace floor traps and was looking closely at my screen to see the way forward, and so couldn't see my health orb. Unfortunately I slightly nudged my mouse button without noticing and walked onto the furnace without noticing. While I was planning my route the (HC) death prompt came up. Oops! Probably one of the more stupid lab deaths. Second character about to try again, I really like it and an important lesson learned!

my first rip was kinda like that. i was standing in front of an area with a few roombas, planning what route i would take. was standing close but not *in* them thinking i was in a safe area, and wasnt paying 100% attention. triggered a hidden floor trigger that spawned a roomba that moved right onto me, panicked and tried to move out of the way thinking it was just going to cross, but it came back staying on top of me. :P rip

I'm pretty sure this touch pad has a lot to do with it. I knew it was a problem, but I just tried PvP and got owned simply because I needed to fire and strafe, and I could not.

I don't know where my trackball is right now, and I need to get it fixed anyway. I don't think I'll be trying lab again until I get it back, though, because that was pretty lame, not being able to fire and move and fire again.
