Labyrinth is a test of skill, Izaro is a test of stats

disappointed atm, 1st room was awesome, was really happy when saw that little puzzle, brought back memories of many great games. then it went downhill from that, reused maps with some traps added, and izaro(same for that winged demon dog whatever) is just annoying def check to fight, stack def and life gain/leach and just facetank it while watching porn on second screen, dont have def stats - enjoy being hit for ~75% hp by a fast moving opponent that you barely can kite with fast spell

i HATE 'trials' - they are chores you have to do, mind-numbingly boring after 2nd time

but..

i enjoy the labyrinth. it took 2 runs to get acquainted with it. 2 more runs to understand how Izaro runs (he is VERY easy, some tips below). after that i farm Lab ~10 min run each. it is very enjoyable (for me) - why? because the MAP is fixed for entire day. first run of the day is the 'bad one' as you have to guess (there are patterns but you have to be lucky) and after that it is a matter of streamlining.

Izaro fight

he is easy. he is NOT overtuned (like Domino or Mala were in the past). he is DEFINITELY not overtuned. he is a boss and requires respect (changing gems before a fight is acceptable minimum isnt it?) but he can be done with meh gear and on any build (ive been playing 100% melee builds recently and these are the most susceptible to his burst damage

tips/guide:

- each fight has 3 phases: 2 with lieutenants (special adds) and a final one with what Lieutenants you were not able to deal with
- if your gear/play is meh - you HAVE to deal with lieutenants or the final fight will be very nasty (9 frenzy charges on a boss reeks..)

- adds:
-- golems (kill asap, attack before izaro)
-- curse totems (kill asap, attack before izaro)
-- 'conduit of ELEMENT' (let them all emerge and then click on all of them and then dps izaro down)
-- 'conduit pylons' (ALMOST dps izaro down - then click on a pylon to remove his charges)

you have to deal with adds then 'kill' izaro

if you are poorly geared DO NOT fight ARgus (the 'mini' boss - he is FAR more deadly than izaro himself). he is in a locked room so you have no excuses

bring a decoy totem with you, mind your flasks and youll be fine. he really is not a threat even when doing intoxicated gaming

Sound if incomplete advice. Keep playing. There's more to him than that. I'm not sure if you've faced the worst combination of elements yet. I am personally fond of the triple statue/element configuration.

Sorry you see it as sanctimony. I see it more as trying to word things in a way that won't upset people. Because you're clearly already quite upset. But it's cool. I've decided nothing I say will help you.

Bye then! :)

Nor will it help the THOUSANDS who have spent their hard-earned Real Life money to buy MTX and stash tabs. You should see the rush to sell accounts on those un-approved sites.

Because all you are doing is saying that GGG is in the right, and everyone's overreacting. I think I have a better grasp of my own neurological capabilities than you do.

They don't know what hiding is... they don't know what dodging is... they are morons.

ofc it is incomplete as this is what today's lab has in it for me (or is it 'for everyone'?). you had ample of opportunity in the alpha to experience more of his tricks (i decided to skip alpha streams so no hints for me)

as i do speed runs i opt for clean kill - dealing with all adds is quicker despite being 'robbed' of 2 extra treasure keys (very nice risk-reward design here - i opt for no risk)

Fuck, sorry. I didn't mean that to sound condescending. More like encouragement and a belief that what you find too easy might not always be.

Of course I know it changes each day...bah, nevermind. :)

And good for you for skipping the alpha streams. GOOD FOR YOU.

Lab is a test of skill? What a joke! One guy I just turn off RF and have insane life regen to simply run through all the traps and fire. The other guy I play just lightning warps over them... No skill needed.

As for the boss. The first guy turns his RF back on and takes him down with my eyes closed. The other guy gets teleported into fire and jumped on as soon as he gets out and wastes 30 min of my life to not even see what worthless enchantment I would have not ever used...
'My AK-47 totally decimated that knife throwing contest. It took no skill at all!'

Agreed. I have no issues navigating the lab, avoiding the traps by learning their patterns and timing but Izaro has been screwing me in cruel. One fps drop or lag spike and I'm dead. Yes, I am killing the golems, removing the charges, ect. Too much going on, just like the Malachai fight. Normal and Cruel should be tuned down, Merciless can be kept the same.

Also, being forced to play hardcore isn't fun. The one-shot only screws people who don't have a top of the line computer or perfect internet connection. I played hardcore in the bloodlines league, never want to do that crap again. Too stressful for me.
I didn't find it too hard. The first time I beat merc Izaro he unforunately had all his charges. The second time I had Temporal Chains on me but got rid of his charges.

Both times the only thing that nearly killed me was standing anywhere near him when he does that green circle skill that teleports you into traps. So I basically just drop a frost bomb at his feet when he rises up and spam glacial cascade from as far away as I can. His projectiles don't do much damage but simply moving around a bit tend to make him miss/he tries to hit my flame golem.

If he leaps over and lands on me it hurts a bit, but I just run past him and repeat, killing adds for flask charges as needed, but only in that first fight was I desperately in need of them.

I killed Argus once, and it wasn't too bad. I think it was in cruel though so I barely took any damage.

I don't plan on exploring the labyrinth at all though.I just run through it as quick as I can because the less I explore then less likely I am to die from traps and have my time wasted.

If I were allowed to be able to take breaks or make mistakes I'd probably look for silver keys etc. but as it is I just speed run it for another helm enchant for a skill I'll never use on my character.

I lucked out and got a pretty nice Decree of Flames on my gloves and on boots I heal 1%hp/mp if I get hit for 4 seconds. 2% would be better but I'm likely to keep it.

Helm so far has been reduced purity of lightning reservation and something for siege ballista. idk what I even want on helm. Probably either increased buff for flame or another golem, or increased effect of Arctic Armor. The ones for ice nova and glacial cascade are cool too but something that ups my defense/lets me also use discipline would help.

My point is that if I can beat Izaro, and I've been told that my build is garbage and to "change my attitude" regarding this game, anyone should be able to do it.

Personally I don't think my build is garbage, but all the same I hope they don't make the lab much harder. Or if they do I hope that you can be allowed to have more than one shot at it. Much like with Atziri, putting a huge wall between you and being able to even practice the fight sucks. At least you don't need to redo the trials and fight several bosses each time you fail the lab. With Atziri you need to farm frags and then fight some tough bosses just to even see her. Then she fills 99.9999% of the floor with flameblast and stormcall every 5 seconds and if you are like me you just stop bothering after several tries.
