GGG just basically destroyed 100s of exalts worth per piece of T1 legacy mirrored, corrupted, or unique item... just like that, RIP those expensive items in a blink by this BS move.

Just keep giving the finger to the perm players who worked hard to buy expensive items, fuck em over and over. And most of them aren't even that rich. Mirror lords not affected, since they can re-roll their originals.

Not a surprise anymore, but sad how they just seemingly don't give a rats ass.

If only they could figure out a way to make in-game item art into reusable mtxes, they could just wipe Standard off the face of Wraeclast and you'd have nothing to complain about. After all, standard has no global value beyond alt art rewards really. All it does is skew the balancing process because GGG have to constantly think of ways to keep people with nigh limitless, perpetual power interested in the very same game they're designing to be played from the ground up every 4 or so months via gimmick leagues and challenges.

No more standard. Ever. When a league expires, your chars just deactivate all their mtxes and go to the Void League for posterity. That'd be awesome.

No global value? They don't make profit from perm league players?

Oh, they probably do, but if those players are even vaguely into PoE, they'd adapt and play temp leagues the way GGG wants them to. But if a person is going to quit PoE because they can't play Standard and can only play leagues, they're probably not that much of a financial contributor anyway.

There'd be losses, but probably not enough to not justify how much easier it would make GGG's job overall. The sheer amount of money in development time they'd save not having to dance around the Standard quandary.

It's too late now though; GGG had their chance to make Standard go the way of the Legacy league. You can either figure out for yourself that Standard is a graveyard overflowing with very rich, very powerful ghosts that can't touch the real world, or you set yourself up for never-ending waves of disappointment.

From what I understand, there is no buff or nerf to crit multi. It is exactly the same as before but the calculations are different. With the word change, it naturally nerfed Crit multi by 33%. However in the next line they made up for it by increasing all crit multi by 50%

So for example people:
Old crit multi(shadow assassination passive): 150 + (30 * 1.5) = 195% Crit multi

New Crit Multi(shadow assassination passive): 150 + 45 = 195% Crit multi

When the new tree comes out Shadow assassination will now be 45% instead of 30%, however as you see above the calculation is different but the end result is the same. When a new player looks at crit multi now, all they have to do is just add the number to their base value.

Yes, except when it comes to Legacy Items, which keep the old value/wording, thus making it a nerf for them.

Mirrored gear is worthless now. Just quit standard not worth playing and just play league, where GGG wants you to play.

I'm accepting donations in Standard, I'm poor as hell.

Based on my understanding of the patch note, these gears are still useful if you want to play the same crit builds after the expansion, But most of these crit builds will be 33% less powerful.

It seems all rares and maligaro, including both existing and future items, have the same mod tiers as before. So your mirrored or legacy crit mult mods will still be stronger than regular rare items but the difference will be smaller, as Nephalim explained above.

GGG buffed some uniques and rare item implicits so that their crit damages are likely to be similar after the expansion. In this case, you need to divine some uniques and bless a few rares item bases.

This crit mult change basically nerfed all crit builds, bringing their damage closer to non crit builds. Mirrored gear will for sure lose value. But I think they are still valuable because if people want to maximize their crit builds, they still have buy these mirrored items.

The only valuable item I can think of that actually becomes "worthless" is legacy FB. Their crit mult damage got reduced by 33% and yet the new buffed/divined non-legacy FB will likely have similar damage after expansion. So in the end legacy FB may not have higher crit multi or maybe even lower crit mult than the new non-legacy FB.

Just based on my understanding of the patch notes.

No worries, was more concerned that what I'd said wasn't explained well enough! You've certainly put it very clearly here.

GGG balance with complete focus on temp league and just leave the 'legacy league' alone sounds like a win-win-win, but instead they resort to whatever you want to call it now, if not feasible, it's just plain stupid IMHO.
