You need Premium Stash for new trade system?

pay to trade to win.

P2W - any advantage for premium players to regular one.
every premium user will be able now to index items immidiatelly in 5-10s. regular one has to alt tab to windows, log in to third party program, find an item in messy UI, index it: 30-40s. we all know Time is Money, so that is trully p2w option. ofc i know this is a test state of trading improvements, but pushing new players or even existing one into third party programs is a bad decission. we also dont know if there will be a difference between items indexed in Premium tabs and normal ones in POE.TRADE site. |

" I think I wasn't being clear. "Fuck it up" as in this was obviously going to have a backlash. If GGG just flat out told us in the beginning that each one of us will get 1 free premium stash tab, no one would complain. It's a punch to the face of new players because it either forces them to pay for a premium tab, or forces them to spend time with the third party applications that GGG wants to avoid. For a new player who doesn't want to pay yet, this solves zero issues. |

" This point is not as valid as you think it is. I've been following u/trackpete carefully the past week and he got me totally hyped up for the new trading APIs. First of all, damn you u/trackpete, I should have trusted you. " Let's face it, it old way of scraping trading forums was horrible inefficient, a coder's nightmare. Now the new API changes are making things alot easier for the developers. I'm sure we'll see alot of new trading tools coming, which will make use of the new system. And here's the problem: The old forum scraping indexing tools will slowly die out. All these new programs won't be able to list your items if you don't have the premium stash tab. So yeah, as long as everyone keeps using Acquisition and poe.trade everything is fine, we can just use the old tools. But trust me on this one, there will be new tools and all those who then still rely on the old trading forum scraping will slowie become a second class trader. |

" Actually people can already do what GGG is implementing, put a price on a tab and move it in that tab in-game and it's automatically indexed with third party software. @elite, yeah i understand your point but it's a non-issue. A new player is not going to jump into trade and if they do, then they are clearly interested in it and will find things out. It might get backlash, but i think the benefits outweigh the downsides at this point in time and like i said this isn't over yet, GGG can still react to the community appropriately and make people go "praise be GGG". They have done this in the past and it's a solid strategy. Peace, -Boem- Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

" At most, people will be no worse off than they were before. All this does is add a new option which will be much easier for people who choose to take advantage of it. And unless you're selling a LOT of items(which probably rules out most new players anyway), you only need one tab bundle, so it's not like it's a huge expense. The only thing anyone should be complaining about with this was that they didn't announce it until just AFTER the stash tab sale this weekend. Would have made a lot more sense to do so beforehand. But considering how often they have sales like that, it's not much of an issue either. |
|
" sure, but i was refering to pricing a single item with a specific price |

I don't know how actual trade will interact with these tabs, as in will I be able to find an item and buy it directly, or list it and have it sold automatically, but as a someone who has been playing self found since I installed the game, this looks like the start of a real improvement to me.

" Well your correct, that would require an alt tab, but is also already possible in the third party tools. Honestly, i don't want to spend to much time discussing this before it goes live and we see the final approach of GGG to this "situation" people are making of it. It's just a news release and an initial stage of the trading implementations. We have no idea what the follow-up will be. Peace, -Boem- edit : " Nope, it will just automate the indexing of items or rather, implement it into the core game without the hassle of the trade forums. People will still need to look up items and actually interact with one another to purchase/sell goods. " I agree. This is not a big deal in the slightest. Seriously save up a few bucks and support the game GGG gave out for free. |
