Kripparian just said he will be playing some Ascendancy this coming Wednesday on stream.

This is why GGG picks him specially since Kripp's huge followings... and tbh Kripp is the only ex-PoE streamers that has the power to pulls in over 15k concurrent viewers on fucking PoE.

Only thing I can say is people here seem to be really stupid or dumb or hypocrite... they say they will have babies with PoE yet they want to hate Kripp... while Kripp is the one person GGG has to potentially draw in more new players in a significant way.

Again I doubt all known PoE streamers combined would match 1/10 of Kripps number last night. So why hate him?

Welcome to PoE.
Out of that 15,000 how many do you think we're already Path of Exile Players anxiously waiting for the expansion to their game and forced to watch as its the biggest thing in a while, and how many are "new" players?

You don't think this game already 15,000 people willing to watch a stream?

Well I think it's pretty easy to assume most of that number was current players. It doesn't matter how many viewers he can pull unless it's an actual significant increase of not only new players but those that would stay. The indication of losing 10,000 of what you began with points to something not so great as OP had been assuming.

There's no way in your fucking hell that all 15k viewers have heard of PoE.

Especially when people specifically asking Kripp over and over what's PoE, and some even think PoE was Diablo until a further explination was given.

Again you can have all your uber dedicated hardcore PoE streamers have all their viewers combined and you probably wouldn't match 10% of kripps number on a slow night.

tldr

There's no fucking way all 15k people in kripps stream have ever heard or played PoE.
But there pretty fucking easy to see 99% if not all the 200 viewers w/e in the "major PoE streamers" streames already play PoE.

Get it?

His normal viewer isn't there for PoE, GGG wants to get some of those hearthstone viewers...

And even at 15k... please name any of your "major PoE streamers" that can regularly pull 10% of that.

I think Kripp's stream is a resounding success for PoE. Nowhere else are you going to get 15,000 people watching at once, considering how few people actually play PoE, how few were awake/online during the stream, how few knew about the stream, and how few cared enough to tune in. If it were one of the top PoE streamers, 5,000 viewers would have been an unparalleled success, far far above what would be expected.

Yes, the number of viewers dropped once they realized that Kripp wasn't streaming Hearthstone anymore- that's 100% expected and is no surprise at ALL. Still, an average of 15k viewers is insane.

Additionally, Kripp's point of view is perfect for people who don't play PoE a lot. He provided a beginner's perspective with a bit of pre-knowledge, which was exactly what a general overview of Ascendancy needed. With a large audience and so many non-players and new players in it, this point of view was exactly what was needed.

If you want a "pro's" perspective, tune into ZiggyD tonight for the Scion subclass reveal. He'll likely go into the end-game aspect of Ascendancy as well as getting into the nitty-gritty details of new/changing mechanics.
