Culling is outdated. New idea for Cullers.

Hello GGG and Players, first of all; thanks for taking the time to read through my post.

Im Player159632, little more know as "Kaoms_Heart". I have been magic finding in Path of Exile for over 1.5 years now. And lately been abit bored of playing because of Culling strike not really doing the "Culling" that it used to. For those that are not knowing what i am talking about; (
). The gem is mainly used by Magic Finders to secure that they have the last hit on monsters. However with the current meta revolving around crit most monsters dont ever reach 10% health. By that i mean; IF the monster DOES NOT hit 10% (or lower) life and instead is killed by "player1" who chunks down monsters in two hits, the Item Rarity and Item Quantity of the Magic Finder ofcourse wont apply. This usually does NOT count for bosses since they have enough HP to not be 2 shotted.

Conclusion (TLDR): The current poe has TOO MUCH damage and cullers can therefore not cull anymore.

How do we fix this?

Ofcourse i would not have made this post without a suggestion. With my love for magic finding it's sad to see this happening to these type of builds and how they went from being "one of the most useful builds" into something that people hardly care about. If my idea will get some love we can make these great builds viable again.

Idea:
Instead of having "Culling Strike" we could have "Culling Mark" a curse that the magic finders casts. The stats of the curse would be something like following:

Cullers Mark
Casters item rarity is applied upon killing enemy.
Casters item quantity is applied upon killing enemy.
(5-20% chance of all party members gaining 1 endurance charge on killing cursed enemy.)

This way the cursed monsters will not need to reach 10% life for the item rarity and item quantity to apply.

I really appriciate you all reading this, and please help us revive the magic find builds! :)
Best regards, Kaoms_Heart

Simpler solution would be to have the mark, like you suggest, but just change it so once the monster reaches 10% or less of it's total life it dies instantly. Would save the trouble of all the confusing wording about who killed it, basically whoever's mark applied would get the kill. To make sure of that, could have it so once a monster is marked they can only be reduced to 1 life by normal attack and the cull actually does the killing.

This way you can have a graceful change to culling the mechanic instead of a wordy change just to the gem.

true culler's need a better way to get the acual kill. THe current metha is just so much damage focused that its sommetimes impossible to cull in party's.

It's called Item Rarity and Item Quantity.

You might want to +1 this. Because your curse will most likely be overwritten by someone with Curse on Hit or Blasphemy. Or you would face the same problem you have now: your Item Rarity and Quantity will not be applied.

This is exactly what the topic is about. Your point?
@SuperMotte

Instead of directly attacking my suggestion, why not make the world better and give propper critics.

One thing is bashing on a suggestion.

But giving critics is about making an initial suggestion better. The best cellphone ever made wasnt that first one, you know that, and so do i.

Please instead of doing you casual e-rage/bash to get your post count up. Help us out and give us your ideas about making this better.

I think you are the one ragging. Where did I bash your idea?

Besides my post count is <1 per day. *slow clap*

@SuperMotte

You are only stating the negatives, and not the positives.

You are also not thinking with an open mind. For example;

IF this would be released as "curse" and GGG soon finds people complaining about this overcursing.
Why not add a fourth mod saying "This curse counts in addition to other curses". Problem solved without causing any damage to other existing curses.

I'dd appriciate you not come here just to be negative, i don't know if you might have a shitty day, or something shit happened. If so, life sucks carry on, don't come here to release you anger.

Kindest regards, Kaoms_Heart.

Wouldn't this allow massive "trolling"? (Damn, I hate this word.)

I really like that idea! So you are saying, as long as the mark is applied monster can ONLY be killed by it's caster, correct?

Thanks for the idea! :)

EVEN BETTER
Use Atziri's Mirror which has Curse Reflection. Now curse yourself with the unkillable effect (except some enemy would have Culling Strike).

You see? That's not a good idea.

Am I negative again?
